Neither is actually considered wrong by most people.
http://grammarist.com/spelling/just-dese...-desserts/
Quote:The expression meaning that which is deserved was originally just deserts. The phrase is the last refuge of an obsolete meaning of desert—namely, something that is deserved or merited. But because most modern English speakers are unfamiliar with that old sense of desert, the phrase is often understandably written just desserts.
Using just desserts is not a serious error, and it is much more common than just deserts in 21st-century texts. Some people still consider it wrong, however. Whether to pay this any heed is for each of us to decide for ourselves.
Ruffs scout could be mapping the tundra.

Language is defined by the majority usage though, this isn't logic.

T96: Start of Ruff war
Settle Just Deserts and spot Ruffs units. Galley in place is adjacent to land so could contain up to 2 units that are capable of attacking out or reinforcing his city next turn. Looks like Ruff wants to plant on the desert tile, which is ideal city location due to Fish.
Confirm settler/axe pair. I checked the odds for the chariot to attack an unpromoted or C1 axe last turn prior to moving. Last turn I made the decision to scout south, to see if Ruff was ready to settle to bloc Pass Mustard. As it is we had 87% odds to attack and as Ruff could settle the flood plains next turn we have to attack now.
Roll the dice...
Flawless victory, and another worker. I have not yet renamed this worker, but I think it should be renamed "ten ruff" next turn if Ruff doesn't have anything on that galley to attack with, so we can keep track of where the workers came from. This OK with you novice? I think the right nove is to run the worker straight onto the sheep and then pasture that.
Offered peace to Ruff. I wonder if he reoffers it after logg in, thinking he can settle south of JD? We will keep on the look out for score increases showing him founding a new city next turn; if he doesn't then we are safe to accept peace when we log in if he offers it and found PM.
Met Xenu. Kept EP on Ruff as we need graphs if we are in a hot war.
Offered OB. This would be worth 1 commerce per turn in JD, as we have maxed out all of Plakos routes. Xenu is at 9 cities, so he should keep us going for a while longer but we are going to need another OB partner once Currency comes in.
I wanted to put the bowman 2W of the city site to barb bust as much as possible, but maybe it is best just to camp the plains hill, and then the city site as the worker moves up?
dtay might be roading to invade, but his power isn't scary at all so I doubt it. MOre likely just a chop. I moved teh spear from between FP and RC towards DS though, just in case.
Unload Bowman/settler pair next turn. Unsure of priorities with the workers at Cf now though, pasture finishes next turn. We don't have a unit to defend the worker on the sheep, so I'm thinking just putting 1 worker there and move him away if Ruff doesn't take peace, and shows a galley. I think moving the western spear into GE might make the most sense, but the bowman from KM is also available.
Ultimately, I'm really hoping we get peace from Ruff because in 10 turns there won't be anything he can do that will completely derail us. Be annoying, yes, but not derail.
I am not 100% happy with the worker, but I'm not exactly any more happy with anything else here. Tarter Sauce needs workers to hook the horse and improve the dye, to chop a granary (work boat could come from Cf overflow easily enough), so getting a settler now for there seems short sighted. We could get another settler for south island, but with the additional 4 workers coming from the western cities there are not many workers available for the south island right now. I think we can ferry over maybe 2 workers from FR after the chops are completed, if the lone galley is not ferrying over units to defend with.
In fact, I need to log back in anyway, so I can change this to a settler if you want novice. Ultimately, we only need 13 worker turns at Mind grain to hook teh corn and chop a granary, beyond that we can simply whip it, so we can make do with fewer workers for a short while if you want.
I think T100 build a worker, T101 whip it and then finish a work boat T102 for the clam? Then build a work boat whilst growing back for the whale, which could be hooked T108 (earliest can be hooked due to border pop is T107)? I think this kind of MM would make a settler at WH more feasible.
Bowmen. I think we need a couple of bowmen for GE, KM and maybe 2 for JD?
I think it's a lighthouse next, then whip it for 2 pop T101, and then grow like a weed to size and double or single whip a library? Cf is going to force the revolt to Rep by T105 at the latest IMO...or we're going to get Currency and Calendar off the fail gold and hook a couple of happy that way around the same time.
Again, not entirely sure what to do here. Border pops in 5 turns and then can worker the 2/2 plains deer, or the flood plain. We can't farm the flood plain without peace though, and the road probably comes first before that. Camping the ivory doesn't make much sense IMO, but if we do get peace, then I'm tempted to use the two workers to chop the forests adjacent to the deer for a granary, or potentially a library, trying to steal that crab. Ruff shouldn't have much in that city which could compete with that amount of culture...

Eggcorn in a nutshell.
Can we request a reload to get this naming error fixed?

A worker in DS is fine, OTOH we still want moar cities. For example, in addition to south island and TS, a city 4S of TtL might be prudent.

I'll change it to a settler. With a worker from FR to overflow out a work boat, I think we can force it to work if we get peace with Ruff.

Also, I think we can have some fun with Rep happiness being bounced around if we revolt on T100. And I think that would likely be the best turn to revolt anyway; we wouldn't have the food hooked at any of the new cities until T101 at the earliest anyway.

So the T100 update is coming shortly. Are there any requests from lurkers for the report on that date? I think T100 will occur on Tuesday if we have no more disruptions, and I'm off then...so long as I've finished my last essay by then.

A non-zero death toll? The axe snipe has awakened long-suppressed instincts in the lurker pool!
An excellent thread so far, I hope to see some long term strategy and maybe some win condition analysis. Who is still competing for.the crown?
Oh, and a plan to get off your rock* and meeting the contender would be nice. Krill cant make fun of Commodore's scouting after this isolationist showing! *yes I know you settled an island, but get your Leif on and spread some ancient love!
