Given their naval tactical superiority (assuming even naval tech with Mackoti, which will soon be the case), it would be interesting to see what Scoopin could accomplish with a significant enough naval investment to lock down Mackoti's coasts and force him into more or less effectively abandoning the seas. If they could limit his scope of influence to being basically home port defense and give themselves free reign of the rest of the ocean, they could grow their empire by conquest a lot more easily than Mackoti could keep up by attacking neighbors over land. I kind of think this is their way to win the game. Keep economic pace with Mack, keep him bottled up on his continent, and then expand everywhere else while denying him access. Easier said than done, but, for instance, if they can keep Mackoti on his side of the water and out of their back lines I don't see why, over time, the Vikings shouldn't be able to absorb most everything they want from their own continent (piece by piece, not all at once obviously). Achieve a sufficient quantity of land with which to then pursue whichever victory condition they're after. Or go for the win and try to strike at Mack's ports and reduce his economy to the point of concession. Required disclaimer, this is all long term speculation and other actors may at any time inject themselves into the scenario in unpredictable ways.
Any chance this is finally the game where a modern era conflict is spilled across the map and actually carried out?

Sadly, I agree.

I believe they had 23 a few turns ago, so probably 25 now. but their only method of expansion atm is probably through mackoti. I guess it depends on how well their war goes and how well ours goes.
When is this or has this ever been a factually correct statement? I'm guessing seldom bordering on never. Also, not factually correct in this case. There is generally ALWAYS a better target for conquest. This is probably even true in a duel with mack.

As long as barbs are on, yes, you can hope for a barb city spawn.

Seems the Icahood's main reason that his economy is down in the gutters is because he spent all of his GA's to prep for a failed war between him and WLP. He shoulda have waited for Cuir at the very least.

Quote: Sorry for posting and running like that in the pb13 IT thread, but I was late to work at that point.
So here's what happened: in my rush to get the turn done before leaving to work, I thought i only had to log in, move 2 zerkers, and then log out. Of course, right after I hit enter I saw what was missed - we hadn't left things microed things right to get Chemistry at end of turn and ended up 2 beakers short. That is easily fixed: we're talking changing a merchant specialist to a scientist specialist and we're done.
Because of how the war situation is I need to ask for a reload. I was trying to talk myself into playing on -- it won't delay our tech time to Military Science -- but it will delay getting frigates in the water another turn and that can change a lot. And in a war situation as delicate as the one against mackoti is, that could be a pretty big difference.
doesnt sound like a reload situation to me... cost of running right on the razor edge.
edit: yeah this doesnt help either

Seems like a genuine mistake by Pindicator.

How can a reload be given for this? They made a mistake due to playing too quickly, not hurt by something outside their control.
