Unfortunately, such a system makes too much sense to be present in Civ VI. the DoF actually just expires on the turn roll, so no matter who proposes or accepts the original offer, it's the player who is first in turn order that gets the first strike.

That's just dumb. Do you guys want a rule that the person who got proposed to gets to DoW first?

I'm not sure why it never occurred to me that this could be house-ruled. I won't be playing in this game, but I think it's a good rule provided adequate reporting: not terribly difficult for lurkers (and players) to keep track of, and it makes offering a DoF a bit more dangerous.

How's this for wording: "The player who proposed the DoF cannot declare war on the first turn after the DoF expires, unless the player who accepted the DoF is ahead of them in turn order"

Not as OP as some other stuff but it is dumb to give Player 1 an edge for no reason. Assuming we play with civforumde:

-You cannot pillage City-State tiles except for farms and fishing boats.
-Resource hiding ban.
-City-gifting must be approved by the wise council of lurkers.
-You must accept/reject Declaration of Friendship at once.
-Declaration of Friendship blockades are okay.
-The player who proposed the DoF cannot declare war on the first turn after the DoF expires, unless the player who accepted the DoF is ahead of them in turn order.
-BBGM active. I propose banning other mods because of what happened to Woden in the final game here.
-Normal or quickspeed? BBGM is going to put RB at a disadvantage and quickspeed would make it much worse.

Could we possibly get our own subforum for this game? I feel like that would give a bit more coherence to the set up process. Should we also look at setting a date for when the game should kick off?

Is this game for sure happening? I'm not totally clear if this is still a maybe-game or a for-sure game.

I'm going to see about making a civforum account today and reminding the people there about the game. We should look to have a deadline for signups, concurrent with when Chevalier is available to play.

Chevalier, do you need your other game to finish, or are you good whenever?
