If Yuris has the 1st row tech then Mig is going for Sailing or Pottery, or Mig is going for Agri or Mining and Yuris is going for Pottery or AH.
My conclusion is someone is fucking around.

or I could remember that Yuris is playing Pericles and has +2 gnp from culture.
In which case they're both researching 1st tier techs. Mining I would presume.

I think the goal should be to hold everything up to their capitals on either side, get to cats then roll around the map.

I hope Yuris is going for Fishing. It's the wrong play. Fishing should wait until after first settler.
I like the "Hulk Smash" strat for sure. Prats and cats.

Yurts may well be doing hunting--archer for some bowman choking. Hopefully he'll send them Commodore 's way. Dog soldiers vs bowmen is a hilarious matchup to watch.
If they're coming our way I'd like to have the option to spew out a chariot or two. Axes vs bowmen isn't a great match up even on flatland (5.5 vs 4.5 with first strike)
But we've got a few turns yet to decide.
