Note that Gav is still on 2 cities, 10 turns after that screenshot. I think his first city clamed copper and horse, and a third will claim the pigs soon. Although that tile 5W of the pig also claims a pig, and ivory, and seals off a nice border towards Binvac.

He must have settled for luxury metal either NW (share food) or N (fish, but tundra luxuries) then. Seems like a fail to not settle the pig city that via holy city culture could grab the grassland cow / get you towards contested gold. Although Commodores spot makes it seem like he probably? won't contest that gold unless Gav gets tied down. Although if he already has it mined and working maybe that helped him beat Commodore to religion by 1 turn, so who knows.
But then you have Pins screenshot:
If Gav planted for the grass sheep/horse location there would be culture on a peak tile Pin can see, so we know he didn't plant there. If Gav planted 1S of the plains sheep for the copper, culture could also be seen there. So it looks like Gav planted somewhere in the fog no one else has vision on. I make judgement on if any of this was good or not. I'm just interested in figuring out what he did - because if we can't do it as lurkers how the hell are any of hte other players going to figure it out?
I'll look through my backup drive again tonight and see if I can find the map again so I can show you the spot I'm thinking of.
I'm actually super curious if its a 4 way Oracle race instead of just a 3. SD has incentive to go priesthood being Sumeria and he lost out on Stonehenge plus Colossus would be super good for him. I know reporting usually gets worse as time goes on in these games, but I am sad SD has gone all quiet in his old age (# of pitboss wise).
Also looking at that dotmap. I kind of dislike his filler city spot 3W of his capitol. It can't build a lighthouse, because it's not on the coast and the only food is from the capitol-corn. The only tiles it exclusively works are 1 lake tile and 1 grassland. Rather move the filler spot near "WHERE IS THE FOOD?" 1E. That way that city gets 4 lighthouse-lake tiles, which is better then no food, shares the horse for some production and most importantly acts as a canal, which together with Eridu makes for a very important east-west-passage.

Honestly, I'm not sure that SD has grasped that it's a freshwater and not saltwater lake.
Well SD has Sailing, but hasn't worked on a lighthouse so far.
For the Oracle fans. Naufragar started working on it with 39 hammers already in it and so far he's the only one.

So the question for SD is settle the filler 3N or 3W to steal corn. I think I would settle 3N instead of 3W. It shares copper, grabs 1 more grassland farm, grabs more forests, and allows the other city to be moved 1E as Charriu suggested so he just needs to chop a lighthouse out. The only advantage to settling the 3W spot is that it gets to grow cottages for both cities.
And ya I think there are multiple players that would be drooling over SDs position.
Would it be unfair to tell SD that he can't build a lighthouse on the lake?
