Actually, it can't be poor sportsmanship when we're explicitly stating they've played a great game.

Well, holy shit. All hell broke loose. Tempted to drop DL status to see novice's reaction.
Completed: SG2-Wonders or Else!; SG3-Monarch Can't Hold Me; WW3-Surviving Wolf; PBEM3-Replacement for Timmy of Khmer; PBEM11-Screwed Up Huayna Capac of Zulu; PBEM19-GES, Roland & Friends (Mansa of Egypt); SG4-Immortality Scares Me
I think zakalwe meant that the attitude of "Someone other than us is in first place, therefore the game if continued on its current trajectory is pointless" is poor sportsmanship, and that it's disrespectful to refuse to keep playing (whatever that means) because you're losing.
Personally I just think you're bastards. Well, not pointless, but we all see the writing on the wall. You could consider this the other extreme to PB4. That said we'd always keep on playing, and we do/did have plans to help deal with NoSpace. For instance, if we'd declared war in 10 turns, would it make a difference? In 20 turns? It's more effective to do it now, especially when it leads to a dead GM. Quote:Personally I just think you're bastards. No contest...although Darrell is trying to escape that label and blame me, which isn't entirely unfair.
We are bastards, and its pretty weak to dogpile someone just cause they had a stronger opening than you. GES, up to you man...I'd like to keep you around but I understand if you don't want the stink of this clinging to you

No I'm not...even though techincal difficulties kept me out of the Fateful Chat, I was still able to talk to you on the sidelines. I knew full well what was going on and didn't stop you, so the blame is mine. I'm starting to think this is going to be the most controversial game since Pitboss 2.
Civilization IV: 21 (Bismarck of Mali), 29 (Mao Zedong of Babylon), 38 (Isabella of China), 45 (Victoria of Sumeria), PB12 (Darius of Sumeria), 56 (Hammurabi of Sumeria), PB16 (Bismarck of Mali), 78 (Augustus of Byzantium), PB56 (Willem of China)
Hearthstone: ArenaDrafts Profile No longer playing Hearthstone. ![]()
Its not quite Athlete attacking Slaze with his own army, but it is pretty simlar to the CoW against Spulla.
Darrell darrelljs Wrote:Its not quite Athlete attacking Slaze with his own army, but it is pretty simlar to the CoW against Spulla. I think it is worse than CoW in Pb2 just because it is earlier and we had a deal in place that at least implied a long term peace. Regardless: ![]()
