Amount of land is actually a big factor.

No, literally, it's a builder game where you want to grow as fast as you can and spam cities. You need land to contest.

Well, 4 people works well for mirrored purposes, and the mirrored map like PBEM5B's seemed to work well with a Joao of Inca game. However, ASM just told me (he can't post ATM) that he's not terribly keen on playing, and can swap for you.
And the first question:
Do we want to reuse the PBEM5B mod?
It removed:
World Wonders (All of them: I see 3 options here: Put all the wonders back, Only Remove Some, like Pyramids, Statue, etc., that become ridiculous/game-breaking when you have 50 cities, or keep it like PBEM5B and have no wonders whatsoever). I have a hard time thinking of what wonders wouldn't be incredibly distorting, though: whoever gets to the Pyramids will almost certainly win the game unless they get majorly blocked in the amount of land they can get, and other wonders can be just as big (Versailles = 50gpt in dist. maint. saved, Sankore = 100bpt, etc. etc.). That was why Krill and I decided it was easier to remove all of the wonders, instead of many/most of them. This is important, because wonders change the game dramatically, and make it far less about the individual cities & expansion.
Corporations (This requires little explanation, I hope)
Metal Pops (Copper/Iron could be frustrating if we don't want to obsolete Quechua for HR purposes, and popping extra happy res could also be huge, of course)
Forest/Jungle Growth (This wasn't actually in the original version, but I know where that file is now, so I can remove them): Basically, Pops and Growth are off to remove as many random elements as possible. I know I got somewhat screwed by having a pig get jungled early, and that set me back a bit.

Wait it's pitboss? I'm happy to play but I don't think I can do pitboss. Well I can do it now but when I go back to school in august/September-ish, I can't due to the joys of university firewalls. So if it's a pbem then consider me signed up... Pitboss and I may have to pass.
