Basically he can raze my guardian islands in one move from four spots, and get a landing from a fifth spot. Southern front:

I think we should raze both these cities t172, at least. It greatly limits what I have to defend against. The west I'm just going to ahve to roll the dice in; if he gets an island city I'll have to guard the mainland but that's a pretty good risk to run. Its my core I need to protect. I have no clue how many we can take out along the south, but I'd like to run it clockwise from Alexandria so it limits the amount of area I need to defend.

Actually, I think it's a bit unfun (not necessarily unrealistic) that so much hinges on having the first strike. That's not an issue with the map though; it's an issue with the game mechanics.
