Just noticed TT named his cities after West Wing episodes. That's pretty awesome, though Two Cathedrals definitely should have been the capital.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Two of those cities no longer exist. mh declared war.

This one is going to get really bloody.

It turns out that suicide marines cost more than suicide guided missiles and do less damage. And they come with rebase so moving 20 tiles to get to the staging tile isn't a problem.

Ultimately, 6 move transports mean that there are 7 cities I can easily attack, and G2 marines would be able to attack a lightly defended 8th. I will only be attacking 6 of the cities that are viewable in the above screenshot of the land, but I will move a few marines to make it look like a feint next turn to try to get mh to move a few defensive units to lose their fort bonus. I can hit 3 of the cities with guided missiles from within my land, one oil guarding city, and two other less important cities. I am rushing a few subs from scratch, because I have the gold to spare and 12 GM might make or break the attack on the mh capital.

I have 2 primary aims: kill the capital (Athens) to remove the SoZ from the game, and to remove the two oil guarding cities and plant a city on the oil. The later shouldn't be that difficult to do, I will be able to use at least 20 marines to take out what currently looks like 6 inf, though I can use up to 40 marines to achieve that aim, but that will make attacking the capital that much harder. I will have plenty of GM to soften up the cities though, so I do not think that I will even have to use that many marines to take the oil.

After that, I will focus on removing Athens from play. I don't care if I have to throw 60 marines at that city, I need that city to die to have a chance at winning the war as the WW will frankly screw my civ into the ground, even if I run 60% culture slider.

Once that is done, I have 3 cities that I want to kill straight up: a major port (Thebes), mhs' culture bomb city (Rhodes), and the city to the east of his capital (Knossos). They can be captured, and normally I'd try to raze these immediately after securing oil, but Athens comes first.

Oh, and something I've not mentioned. I'm first in the turn order. I am the first person who gets to declare war: I can position my transports in open ocean (in my territory), and mh can't do anything to stop me. All he can do is to position his ships to stop me parking my TR next to his cities (every single one of his cities can only be attacked from a single coastal tile), but I have enough GM and a strong enough navy to ensure I can stop him blockading Athens, Thebes and his oil city.

This isn't going to be fun, but it is going to be bloody.

Nice. I know that feeling. (Well, I also know fun and bloody too.)

Should be fun to watch anyway.

I believe the consensus per 23 was that people earlier in turn order should not be cancelling peace treaties just because they can. Although I don't think peace treaties expire correctly by themselves - they don't seem to take into account who proposed the treaty and who accepted it, i.e. who got the first turn of being unable to attack.

mh proposed the treaty and I accepted it, and mh declared war first last time...I'm pretty sure which ever way you dice it I'm not in the wrong here.

No promises, but if I stay sober (remember what I said about promises!) I will do an update next turn as I move everything into position.

Christ, I wish I had a source of collateral.
