It's fitting that me of all people is in Duel game "R".
Note the lack of PBEM5 reference, which I find annoying. Buncha copycats - I'm the original baby!!!! ![]()
RB Mod 2.01
Pick the opponent's leaders * I gave Pindicator Charlemagne (Imp/Pro) of England * He gave me Cyrus (Imp/Chm) of Portugal (woo 40h feitorias!!!! ![]() Mirrorland script * Duel size * Temperate, Low Sealevel * Ancient start * Default Waterways * Quick speed * Critical Resources Close No huts, events, barbs, or espionage (supposedly that works in RB Mod ![]() Always War / CTON "Casual" game * No C&D allowed * Try to spend a minimal amount of time on the save / game * Basic strategizing okay (lining up 1-turn techs to snag Liberalism, etc) regoarrarr Wrote:"Casual" game Based on events in 34s, this made me ![]()
Yes and yes (to novice and krill).
I gave him England thinking that Fishing / Mining is the worst opening (now that Hunting enables pastures). And i'm hoping we're done before rifles ![]() I thought about Spain (Fishing / Myst) but I figured Conquistadores were a bit closer on the tech tree
And what's wrong with the RB Mod?
Now right off the bat from T0, I was tempted with the whole "don't spend a ton of time analyzing" rule. Do we settle on the banana? The plains hill? The other plains hill? I decided to move the warrior SW, since I was thinking of moving north, and that would tell me what I was missing there. Grass Hill Pig (5/1/0) revealed 2W of the starting spot. In place hits it, as does the plains hill 1N, but the banana and the other plains hill miss it. So I moved the settler NE, giving up on the banana, and spotted a wheat resource 2NE of the banana. So I opted to settle on the northern plains hill - punting the pig, gaining the wheat, and being coastally on the river
That's obviously not a coastal location.
