I'll bump the map to standard/Noble or Prince in the WB file (I'm assuming that about 250 tiles per player is a fine size). Some islands, but you can safely ignore them.

Ok, just so this doesn't get into a guessing game, my understanding is

- one big continent-type landmass with all of us on it
- some islands on or around it
- generally put: water can play a tactical role but is not by any stretch the main focus

Apart from that, we still have a 60x32 toroidal, standard size, quick speed, noble or prince (please clarify when you know) difficulty map. Without Barbs, Events, Huts I guess? AW if I remember correctly.

Two questions

- is there a map-type with those dimensions available? I'd rather not add tiles of tiles in a wb-file if I don't have to
- Seven could you repost the calculation for the distance maintenance? I'd like to get a feel what those settings actually mean. I know you posted it once somewhere on RB but if possible I'd rather not search all your threads (again) for it. smile

You can adjust the size of a WB file using novice's map editor.

That's right. I'm not sure what standard scripts do it, but I know Hall of Mirrors lets you make any number of blank canvases of any dimension. Looks like Gaspar, Novice, and Mackoti all said Noble, so unless you have a passionate vote for Prince and can convince them...

Huts, events, TT, vassal states all off, Always War.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

Nah, it is fine, we can play Noble.

I was convinced that Commodore would need a unanimous signed declaration of Noble Difficulty before he'd be willing to reduce it below Prince.

It sure would help if we had some sort of ranking to tell how far off one was mischief
