I'm in, in one capacity or another. I'm unsure if it'll be solo or team.

If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.
I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out. I suppose all else being equal I'd slightly prefer solo, but I totally understand why thats risky from the perspective of people who invest a ton of time into these games and don't want someone random to mess it up by dropping. If my preference matters - prefer no random events + leader snake pick.
Fear cuts deeper than swords.
pitbosses are daunting. Playing every turn is one thing, but writing up reports for the lurkers? That's where a teammate helps. I pawned a lot of turn reports off on scooter in pb8

ill probably join a team, as a ded-lurker. im a little annoyed with RB in general right now, but I'll regret it later if I don't.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.
Intrested. AI-diplo is a must and I would prefer NTT although I'm ok giving a try to NTB game, if it si RBMod.
I would prefer maximum randomness and natural look and feel of the map (i.e. not overbalanced). However could be convinced to do with less e.g. Events are by no means nescessary and we could try also Torusland script for a change. After all we've had quite a few B&S games already. If it is RBmod there is no need for massive changes. However I would suggest these changes * Organized: Library bonus removed * Aggressive: Give Market+monument bonus (I don't care about flavor or any other aspect here. Just give them something to bring them closer to the rest of the traits) * Barracks: Culture bonus removed and original cost restored * Creative: Give Observatory bonus (or restore Library bonus) * Tech steal misson costs increased or tech stealing totally removed. Base cost is currently 1.5 beaker cost. I would increase that to 2* the beaker cost. * "Nukes" can kill with direct hit or collateral * Cristo Redentor is useless. If somehow could be changed to change 1 civic at a time every 2nd turn that would be my preference. Otherwise keep it as is (i.e. useless) * Known tech bonus fix (discussed elsewhere). Spread the bonus increases over more tehcs than currently to finally reach 150% * Tech cost increased more smoothly after paper * Salon restored to its original form (France is good neough) Then some bug fixes. It is probably sufficient just to state these shouldn't be exploited. However if they are easy to fix I would do that: * Diplo window + pause button * Trade route bug (SevenSpirits has easy fix to this in exploits thread http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthread.php?tid=4353) * Build culture/wealth/science bug (see Exploits thread) * Oracle/Liberalism eternal techs *... Probably lots of these - No time to dig up them all
I would like to go dedlurker/alternative turnplayer, mostly for education's sake, if someone experienced would take me on. I have been lurking for about 10 months, and see sig for maiden play experience. If people are willing to go with it, I would also enjoy being main turnplayer, and I will have at least Gavagai to back me up, and I would consider risk of dropout quite low in any case — I'm fairly sedentary and in London, where telecoms seem to function. On the other hand, risk of being rolled into the ground early on and giving some neighbour an unbalancing advantage — quite high.
Settings wise, I really dislike events and do not have much of a preference otherwise, but as I never played RBMod, the more straightforward — the better. For what it's worth, the culture bonus to barracks seems very strange to me. Does Agg still get them half-price? EDIT: On reflection, this should probably include some indication of skill-level, albeit I'm not aware of any reasonable scale to rank one on MP ability. SP, I play Immortal and can manage Deity, but as I am mostly depressed by the bulb-n-trade routine and not good enough to play NTT, I never played a Deity game till the end. That's straight-up BTS. MP, I played some ladder games back in the day, and ran a couple of pitbosses with our gang, both of which ended fairly prematurely — in one case we were playing with AI's to beef up the numbers, and one continent got all of them; in the other, which was full-diplo, the game leader dropped out and his sub then got dogpiled by three civs. I'd say MP wise I'm ok on start management, and on micro when I can be bothered, good on military tactics and have little-to-no long-term vision. |
