And, here we are:

A grand total of 7488 beakers, 1717 of which we will be lightbulbing. I think to leverage our economic trait we actually DO want to generate a GS first for an Academy, but that requires proof .
ImageShack down, will attach image later.

I did that. The problem was I couldn't get the tech for the 2nd GP in the capital fast enough. I imagine if I built a scientist in the cap via a library first that would be different, but I was trying to go Merchant->Engineer directly.

Okay, here's the same start but going Mining -> Hunting -> Bronze Working.
I went back and re-ran the first sim to turn 45, with some fairly good micro to hit a city size of 5 when the 2nd Warrior completed. Here's the city when the Settler completes:
EDIT: PTI but my kids are claiming the bath water is "freezing" and daddy needs to "save them" or they will "tell mommy". I'll finish the sims in about an hour .

Sorry for the image size, I don't ahve time to resize and Im about to lose the computer for the night.
Okay, Agriculture/Worker first with Mining:
PROS: Settler at turn 43
CONS: 3 research turns for the tech set
Agriculture/Worker first with Hunting:
PROS: 1 research turn for the tech set, Size 5
CONS: Settler at turn 45
Agriculture/Warrior->Worker at size 2:
PROS:
CONS:
Finally, Fishing first:
PROS:
CONS: 3 research turns to set
I think we should stick with Worker and Agriculture.

We should be able to whip the settler about T38, right? That's what I was hitting in most of my sims.

Really? I don't mind swapping by I've been fairly happy with ImageShack. What's better about photobucket?

Photobucket will auto resize to set dimensions when you upload, if you want. I think the largest they do with the free version is 1024*768, which is great for this forum.

If we go Mining-Bronze Working first, we'll have the chance. However we'll be whipping away good tiles. If we go Hunting-Animal Husbandry first we'll have a Plains Mine to whip but we won't be revolting to Slavery until the Settler is en route. We'll know the location of both Horse and Copper before settling, which is nice. We could maybe then whip a second Worker while teching Pottery?
At least we have multiple turns now to optimize the opening .

Hmm...Imageshack claims to do the same thing but I've always used Paint. Which worked okay but the Windows 7 version makes things blurry (or my new monitor sucks). Let's do a blind test . I'll upload one with Imageshack resizing and the other with Photobucket resizing. Pick your favorite then look at the source.
