Poor ScooPin. AT least they'll only have one turn into production, and 2x wealth is a decent consolation prize... still would add to the certainty of Plako's eventual victory here.

On the other hand, I never thought of the Great Wall as an offensive weapon, but it sure is working that way against Commodore. Nice perk for the Vikings there!

I've been trying to think of a way to just tell Commodore to look on the bright side of things and just farm an army for XP, but it seems like it'd just be kicking him while he's down about it. I haven't paid close attention, other than my namesake archer dying, but does Com have horses? A couple chariots would end the barb axe problems.

Yes, and he's got a couple chariots out, too. Your namesake was avenged by The Merovechian Carts, for instance. Just seems to have underestimated how many he'd need. Or else decided to fogbust with settlers instead of massacre with chariots.

I would if I actually had followed the game, but I didn't. I know a little bit of what Dhalphir did and what I read now in Ichabods thread. But that's also only the last few turns. Apart from that I have no clue whats going on.

Does the game really look like plako is going to win. I mean he is definitely in a strong position but it looks like other players can still win. And have a very good chance at challenging plako.

This game is far from being called. There are at least 8 teams that are in a position that could carry on to victory, and a couple more that it woudn't be that surprising if they did sneak it

I'd say he's got the greatest chance of anyone to win. But most of that is because he's Plako, not because his civ is obviously ahead. It's mostly just 'Plako will probably win unless he hits a major roadblock' combined with 'haven't seen any major roadblocks yet!'.

If he were to retire and someone else took over the Maya, then I wouldn't rate them as #1.

That logic tends to break down when you have someone like mackoti in the game.
