For what it's worth, I think it makes much more sense to use the order made by Serdoa than the order made by anyone else; he's making the map, why not just use that one? Frankly, I don't see why there should be any controversy, especially because the first order was made on the user's own initiative, not specifically by request.

That being said, I'm not fixated on it; I won't leave if we go with that order. For me personally it's a difference of 4th vs. 2nd, so I don't really mind either way. However, I think the correct decision would be to use Serdoa's, to avoid this continued controversy.

Well random picks are random doesn't matter who does it.. The problem is that now there are two choices so people are going to chose the best for then. This isn't how is supposed to be is better to pretend that the other picks never happen to avoid bad blood.

No building spies, settling Great Spies.

No Scotland Yard? Settling has always meant that you can build a Scotland Yard. Basically you can't move the unit outside your territory is what it means. Not that anyone has ever actually built a Scotland Yard, but still.

Edit: Ruff may have built one in PBEM 13.

I see were this is going, this thread/pre-game is going to exploit in a couple of days and I would prefer no to waste my time those two days.
The problem right now is that everyone wants to play a different game so yeah lets not waste time here.
First let me said I want it to play another game, I definitely didn't want to organize anything as I don't have the energy, will or skill but since things are come this far lets talk seriously here.

This is it guys, this is the settings for PB16 now if you don't like it you can drop off the game. If there is not enough people to play then we call off this game and wait for another.

That is a massively dickish thing to do. Organize a game where people vote on settings, let people vote, and then completely ignore what they voted and say we have to do things your way.

I wouldn't ask you to re-count. I would ask you to count the votes, just one time. If you don't want to organize then don't do it, someone else is willing to. It's really unfair to RB members if you pull this kind of bait and switch crap.

Ok, I see we have a friendly, helpful group that wants to have fun together*, just like I would expect it from RB. That's great, and seeing all that love gives myself power for the tedious task of putting together more than 4000 tiles of map. Especially the pleasant atmosphere in which everyone respects everyone else and highly values differing opinions as a interesting and new way to look at an issue is just heart-warming. Thank you guys, I couldn't ask for a better group.

Now, with that out, lets find a solution for the turn order issue. Silly, little issue that. And ... I really don't fucking care about it. If I had to decide, I would value your perceived civ-skill and order you by that. Now that would be really fun - for me, but looking at all the whining already now, I would have to create an ocean for all your tears.

But as we ALL are still trying to have fun together I will instead ask plako to roll a final third turn-order. We won't discuss it, we won't change it, we won't cry about it (well, cry as much as you want, but in your threads please). If someone can't live with that I'm very sorry to see him drop out of the game, but the simple truth is that we won't get a common agreement about which of the first two rolls to use so either I decide on one of them (and half the players will cry foul) or we ask a respected member of the community for another one.


* I nearly wrote "with each other" but thought better of it.
