RBP2 Lurker Discussion Thread - No Players!

Sounds like Dantski had a chance to walk his warrior uncontested into the capital of the Holy Roman Empire but never even considered the option of declaring war. Lucky for Nakor and DMOC!

Yes, odd that. It looks like Mortius may be less lucky, though.

And RBP2 gets a kill before RBP1 or the PBEM do. Krill and Olo, nice job with the map setup.

Speaker's point about starting with Hunting being bad rings so true.

Looks like Dantski's warrior was injured by a panther, maybe that explains why he didn't even consider attacking the HRE.

@Krill: When do we get the answer to your border agreements quiz?

Well, Jabah was along the right lines. You can't settle in every direction at once and defend all of them, so if you can get a border treaty in place on one flank, you can send all of your settlers and workers in 1 direction and settle even faster towards 1 player and grab more land, and defend it better.

Basically, a border treaty can position a player to get more land than expected, and make you seem like a good ally. Just don't negotiate border treaties with everyone.

Of all players Mortius actually had one of the earliest warnings that the map could be dangerous early -- he found the Roman border quickly and even got a message from LiPing:

Quote:Hello Mortius,

First of all, I need to mention that I may be dead in three turns time and you may not actually need to worry about me at all (There's another team's warrior near the city ...

So while I don't particularly like a player going down before he gets to do much ... at least Mortius should have been aware of the risk. alright What could he have done? Well, besides cycling the scout back towards his capital, not much really. Would those Incan's still have attacked with a scout "blocking" the diagonal? Perhaps ....

who killed Mortius and do they have a thread?
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

And he continues to get them wrong. I wonder how long it will take till he realizes that there is something wrong with his assumptions.

Sullla Wrote:LiPing had the third score increase, and by process of elimination (18k - 14k = 4k Soldier points) her tech had to be The Wheel. I considered that she could have researched a 2k tech and someone else built a warrior, but the math didn't work correctly for that. It has to be The Wheel. And while that's a little odd, LiPing does have Fishing, Agriculture, and Mining techs. I guess LiPing wanted to build roads before heading to Bronze Working.

Rather amusing for us lurkers to watch Sullla make a complete mess of Rome's tech and production situation plub

EDIT: Ninja'd. I don't think it'll matter too much that he's got the techs wrong as they're not near to each other IIRC.
