Really? It's just a couple nerfed WE which will take a dozen turns to arrive to fight a guy who has tech parity and much better supply lines. Just because Commodore is a veteran player and picks fights doesn't mean he automatically wins every war.

I doubt this very much. That's all Commodore showed, sure, but there's no way that's all he's bringing. He's building a Mace in Calgary, for instance.

Entirely depends on Ichabod. William does have better supply, but he might not be able to divert forces from his mainland. If he can't afford that, then there's no way Magic Flute can defend itself.

william has shown so far that he isn't decisive enough to win any offensive war. If Commodore wins that island its because William is timid. ...or distracted. I don't think Mindy's advice is helping either.

Sure, but adding more units will delay his attack even longer, which at least in theory should mean running up against more spears and LB and whatever else WLP can build. Plus I seriously doubt Commodore is really going to invest a vast amount of resources into taking this island, nice as it is, since he doesn't want to weaken himself with the Vikings growing in power and seemingly destined to eat Nakor with ease. He can afford to ship a small force to fight WLP, but once Nakor is gone I think his window of opportunity is just about over- and barring an Ichabod invasion, WLP should be able to claim or at least hold part of the island during that time.

Commodore isn't really at tech parity, I think he is actually ahead a bit. I don't think longbows are going to be effective enough in trying to hold an unsettled island with no culture, and Commodore has galleys in place to set up a chain (so could transfer 2 units a turn or so if he set up a real chain rather than a convoy system). I think Commodore will get the whole island, and I don't think it will be close or anything, but he will have to concentrate and not make stupid mistakes.

Also I think both Commodore, Scooter, Pindicator and Noble are too terrified to wage another war against each other. That border is destined for a cold war IMO.

ScooPin's tech is going to explode if Lewwyn and Azza don't snipe some Roman lands. the conquest won't set the Vikings back thanks to Darius, and there's a lot of cottage goodness in that land. Combined with 4 move galleys and maybe some amphibious rifles? we can hope!

But for now, yeah.

also, William will not win any war ever until he kicks the indecisive habit he's showing here. Mindy's loose cannon advice isn't helping either. Retep should be done-dead by now, for realsies.

Yeah, most of Mindy's advice seems frankly terrible, and is often contradictory to boot- Invade everyone! Get more cities, but surrender unsettled land! Declare on Ichabod! Run screaming from Ichabod! Etc. tongue

Also, is this:

A legitimate tactic? I thought RB banned infinite movement boat chains as far back as Civ 3 days... Actually, I wasn't aware those even worked in Civ IV.
