It would be kind of funny if Plako stopped the war now and left the table scraps for Bacchus to clean up, if he (Bacchus) is fool enough to do it.

Edit: And do we switch to Nationhood/Caste/Pacifism to get our next golden age in place quicker?
cognitive dissonance much? (the caste/pacifism part, not the nat'l part)

I don't think so. I assume you're talking about not being in slavery in a war? I mean, it's pretty terrible in this mod compared to caste system, especially post-guilds, and when both sides have large, mobile standing armies it doesn't make much difference anyway. It has its reputation as a war civic because it lets you leave your troops unbuilt until needed, but they've already built what them at this point. Not that they are not in a bad position right now, but I really doubt more whipping would improve it. (And they are talking about switching into Nationhood at the same time, so IMO that's actually a net upgrade to war civics.)

good points about slavery/caste. pacifism is really the one that stuck out at me, but maybe they dont have theology yet.

I can see pacifism as a good intermediate hammer strategy for a troop buildup, particularly if they don't have theology. They're in caste so I'm assuming they have a good number of workshops (haven't read that thread yet either. damn). They can starve down a city or two and extend the GA another 9t and get the extra hammer bonus for troop needs. They won't need OR if they're going total war mode, so pacifism makes more sense in that respect.

Although I remember that last time I checked they were losing quite a hefty chunk of money from troop supply cost. I think Pacifism would be too expensive for them without being in vassalage.

I mean, it has "pacifism" in the name, but that doesn't mean it's bad for when you're at war. Sure, theocracy is the most explicitly warlike, but that doesn't mean it provides the best results.

Dtay's Shrine Dilemma seems like a no-brainer to me- of course you want to keep the shrine, even if it means it will take longer to secure the city. Otherwise, what was the point of the war, if you burn the best spoils? Waging war simply to hurt somebody doesn't make sense if you were doing much better than them anyway, as is the case here.

Completely agree! Bigger picture, the capital decapitation strike was probably not the best grand strategy for dtay... the capital is not going to be safe until the other cities fall. Even if he had enough hitters, dtay would need to keep massive garrisons in both begabond and jetboy, while having enough left over to continue the attack.
