AFAIK in PB8 by T150 people were speculating how fast Commodore can win it...

Yet here we have Scooter and Mackoti both with solid chances to win. And that's not even the only two - if those two end up making a mistake, or get locked in combat with each other, there's Plako, Commodore, and dtay below them ready to take advantage.

I'm glad we don't have it on, but it's interesting to speculate how this end-game might play out if full diplomacy were on. A Dtay/Commodore alliance might be competitive with the top dogs.
I seriously doubt Commodore or Dtay have a shot at a win here, but Plako has excellent prospects geographically, with some islands left to settle, room for filler cities and a succession of weak or weakening neighbors encompassing the rest of his continent. He could end up with a truly enormous empire, but I'm guessing the game will be over before he could get it to pay off.

This game's got a bunch of people who hold the title of kingmaker, and two, maybe three candidates to be king.
From what I see, Commodore, Fintourist and Bacchus will decide who wins this game. I don't think dtay can do much but hand the game to mackoti by hitting the Fintourist or maybe by fighting the Vikings. And if Bigger can beat up Azza fast enough, and then holds up the Vikings hard enough, Mack gets it again.
I really think the Vikings are in the driver's seat here. Mackoti has Finarry to deal with while Pindicooter have fast boats and TBS/Baccus/whoever else they can reach, with an ever expanding reach, all while keeping Commodore happy in his freezer box. If Com is content to sit on his pile of tundra, I see the Vikings winning. It just comes down to mack's neighbors not wanting to cede an inch of land and fighting to the end.
Crosspost: I didn't think about Big/wyn. I think they're actually more likely to be a victim of the Vikings than to be a decisive obstacle. I think Vikings take an opportunistic strike before China can absorb Azza's lands.
I honestly don't see what Commodore can do to the vikings until the arrival of cav's on the scene as there is no possible to actually mount a sucessful invasion against the vikings as they have gren's to counter the rifles in open field combat and with nothing protecting them, they are dead meat against gren. Also pretty much all of his citiies is costal and all easily raze able by the vikings once they send a couple of coins upgrading CRII gren's from Berk's I don't see how Commodore can possibly win in a war between the too.

Bacchus will only decide the game in the sense of who ends up assimilating his lands the quickest - Plako or the vikings.
