[NO PLAYERS] The Kibitzer Klub: PB13 Map & Lurkers

The only constants between that game, and those who currently play, are myself and Ruff. Ruff doesn't play many games here, in fact I think he has played maybe 3 games since PB1 and PB18? I think you should trust me when I comment on my personal skill level at that point in time and now. It's not even close, then I was probably the best single person in PB1, and I had such a lack of understanding of strategy it hurts to go back and read the stupid mistakes I made.

It's still a long ways to the finish line, but RB isn't used to longer races. Who is going to maintain the stamina needed to stay competitive?

Pindicator, I'm not going to ask for all the detailed reasoning why you quit, but Jesus do I think scooter fucked up by effectively getting you to quit the game.

Also, that he doesn't realise it's Commodore who can out tech him and will shortly have Kremlin, US and a billion tows (maybe even FS?) is both popcorn and banghead because it means he doesn't understand why the game might not need to end for a while (and he doesn't need to be as scared of mackoti, so should relax).

Agreed on all counts! Commodore probably has a better shot than Plako, honestly, especially if Lewwyn comes at Scooter for real. ...not that Comm seems to care, but still!

Yeah, I'd rate Commodore's odds lot higher if he actually have concrete desire to win.

I don't mind telling the reason, i just don't want to sound like i'm coming down hard on scooter, who by all accounts is a great guy. It's just that for whatever reason we were just not on the same page for most of the game when it came to strategy. I could never convince him to take my path, so that i felt i was always the one giving in, and after a while it just felt like what was the point of trying to argue if he wasn't going to listen, i was playing scooter's game anyway.

It might have been okay if we actually managed to agree on anything this game, but it seemed like we never did. (Except attacking Nakor with knights.) Towards the end there were some communication problems too, and that just compounded things. Like somehow he thought i agreed to giving mackoti three cities for peace when i was talking about taking the war to mackoti rolleye

It's possible scooter and i just aren't very compatible teammates, and the only reason we did allright in pb8 was because we were in survival mode the majority of the game. I do remember getting upset at the decisions in the beginning of pb8, up until the crazy india invasion. But it's hard ro stay upset because he's such a stand up individual. Frustrated, absolutely, but not mad. And if i would have stated on i knew it would just be more frustration.

Absolutely. But it sounds like there is a lot of fatigue in all the players. I think plako is the only contender who hasn't complained about the problem

If it gets to serious talk of draws or concessions, could we suggest the players use a self imposed turn timer of ten or fifteen minutes? Obviously the play would become more slapdash, but you could still run a space race or something.

15 minutes, for 40 cities + dozens of units? Slapdash wouldn't even begin to describe it.

It would probably make more sense to extend the timer to 2 days or something like that rather than shorten it.
