Re Korea: I think they will not only survive, they will make the war a costly one for Rome. I think Whoist missed the opportunity by declaring early and also by not going into war mode with everything he got.

The Oracle situation is interesting.
I wonder if Byzance should make an effort to finish it. Not specially to get a valuable tech (since I doubt they will last long enough) but more to deny its power to any other civ (especially since right now the only one to consider it are the Ottomans).
But when facing several HA, they might slave out several archers than finishing Oracle.....

They're mostly done with the Oracle already, so I think they should finish it. They're dead no matter what they do, there's no way they'll finish a galley and a settler in time before the HA army comes in and burns Athens to the ground.

It'd be sad to see them eliminated so early, though. More players/teams makes it more interesting. That said, if I was them, I'm not sure I'd have the heart to keep the high level of commitment necessary to stay involved if I wasn't realistically able to win.

darrell chimed in agin for HBR which I think is a mistake: they really can't use their horses at all, but their iron might be in a useful spot.

IKZ are talking about the Oracle, and they might have a shot if they can chop it now that Byzantine's mines are gone.

Not sure that Ottomans will be able to get the HAs quickly enough to take out Byz without trashing their long-term prospects, given Byz has their graphs & will whip down just to make it hard for their enemy.

I guess there's too much ill will there some form of vassalage for Byzantium - have a sneaking feeling it would probably work out best for both teams in many ways?

I know this is going to sound a little bitchy, but Sullla could definitely improve his mm. The granaries should have been completed when the food bar was half full, for one thing.

As a fairly new player to the major tactics of this game, would someone care to explain this to me or provide me with a link?rolleye

I am thinking along the lines of whip for 1 or 2 pop? not sure on this and then regrows following turn with possible overflow of hammers for something else?

Or am I completely missing the point?bang

@Pegasus: The food generated in the second half of the food bar is stored in the granary, so if you complete the granary when the food bar is half full, you still get full effect from it immediately. If you complete it later you've "wasted" food and should have emphasized hammers, if you complete it earlier you should have emphasized food to speed growth.

EDIT: IIRC the food generated the turn the granary finishes is not stored in the granary.

I'm not a very good micro manager myself so I can't personally say in that regard. I do know that Sullla puts in way more time and thought into his mm than most players. So even if it isn't optimal (which I can't speak to), it will still give him a huge advantage to be that intentional. Without a clear plan, it's easy to do what seems good at the moment or just forget certain things.
