GUIDELINES FOR PLAY (adapted from this)
(1) You win the game by:

* Improving your Civilization.
* Exploring how the game works.
* Surviving.
* Sharing your knowledge and experience in the forum.
* Achieving a victory condition

(2) No talking (AI Diplo).
(3) No city trading/gifting of any sort.
(4) Maintain a brisk turn pace:

If life prevents you from playing your turn on time, post in the tech thread requesting a pause. Remember that a multi-player game is a shared project - playing well means playing well with others.

That said, please pause the game if you notice the timer running low - even without an official request. Life happens and "Always Connected" is a poor way to live. It's better to pause now than to inconvenience the pitboss host with a reload. It's better to reload than punish a player.

Work together to keep the game healthy.

(5) The turn timer is not a tactical tool:

PEACETIME
* When relevant, don't play twice before your opponent can move once (double move).
* Try to play your turns consistently and at a convenient time for other players.
* End your turn as soon as possible, signaling that you are done moving units.

WAR
* Don't inconvenience yourself or others in order to establish a turn-split.
* Don't double move when war is declared.
* Maintain a consistent turn-split for the duration of the war.
* It is permitted to coordinate a turn-split with your war opponent.
* If it's your opponent's half of the turn, don't take any in-game actions.

If you have doubts, ask. Games are not law courts; your behaviour defines the game.

(6) Have fun and help your fellow players have fun.

Sounds great to me. My vote is for ToW and would be fine with any of the picking methods.

Sign-up conditional on a willing team-mate. Not ToW, at least not with traits giving +1 food/hammer per late-game tile.

As I said in the other thread, I'm interested if I can ride shotgun with a veteran player. I don't particularly care about the mod, but I have no experience with ToW. Haven't even read any of the games using it.

RB mod needs updating with a bunch of things, unfortunately I do not have time to do it until 5/7/14, and I lack the ability to make the changes completely.

You can basically take 2.0.6.4 which is the PB18 version with no map trading or the 2.0.5.3 version which has map trading enabled.

No game-breaking bugs though, correct?

Can't say PB13's version doesn't work to make a good game, nor PBEM 55's.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

Ultimately if you can find a version of the mod I can't exactly stop you from using it. But the new version of the mod has an observer mode and a somewhat more...sane...known tech bonus. Unfortunately I don't even know how to use github so I can't get the next version of the mod together.

I'm interested in teaming with someone with stronger civ skills than me (so anyone, basically)

I don't know if I'll be able to be a regular turn player, however, but I am happy grabbing turns when needed.

Is that the date you meant to state, or...? Oh, wait wait. Are you one of the sane people who writes d/m/y? Because then that would make more sense.

I think most people on RB would take issue with describing me as sane Whosit, but yes, d/m/y.
