What system is that? And are you talking league or union?

I thought the red was referee's call - studs up and dangerous, but didn't do any real damage. On the cusp of the decision where I think that whatever the ref chooses is right and Alan Green thinks whatever he chooses is wrong. It was the sort of tackle you shouldn't really be surprised to get sent off for.
I don't like video technology, because so much of making decisions is about opinion, which no two people are going to agree on, so even if someone is looking at a video you won't always agree with him. Also I hate the two minute waits in rugby and cricket every time there is a close call. It would only be worse in footie since its a game that needs to flow.
I would like to see retrospective action on players who try to deceive the ref though, the same way that violent conduct the ref misses gets dealt with with Suarez-style bans.
(BTW in the Greece vs Ivory Coast game I've seen so many ricochets that I've no idea about in real time, but the ref has got spot on when you see the slow-mo. He's having a very good game.)

my point exactly here - stonewall penalty for me (even though I didn't want it to be). Which of us do you put in charge of the video Krill?

I support a post game review with appropriate actions.
I was fully behind Germany in 2010 until the goalie blatantly tried to deceive the ref (non-goal v England) and then bragged about it in the press. A team that wins that way doesn't win. Actions like that should also be penalized subsequently.

I had to google the meaning of 'stonewall penalty'. This is what I got from urban dictionary ...
A complete, absolute and certain penalty kick in football. A defender shooting a forward in the penalty area with a BAZOOKA is a stonewall penalty.

Whoever is replay official for the game. It doesn't matter who does it, whoever is doing it will do better via replay than in real time.
