[SPOILERS] Zanth and Bacchus conquer the Amber Gugohn

I reckon that scout can't uncover anything that would make us change the settling location, but once we settle we will have a better idea of a good direction for scouting, as we have lots of hills in the small circle. We won't get Hunting for a while, probably, so can't really waste scout moves — I say settle first.

Suttree has a land start, good for his pick.

I went ahead and did that:

Nothing of particular interest in the demos.

So, the green cross is the obvious place for a second city that will help the capital to grow its river cottages, as well as work some of its own. The lands around it are a bit plainsy, but it's still the far and away best place to settle in terms of economizing on worker labour, etc. That it will have unlighthoused lakes in its vicinity is sad, but what can you do. Maybe there's a fish smile

Given the above, and for the purposes of constructing a sandbox as early as possible, I decided to move the scout to that desert hill, via 2-3-3. That will also get some visibility across the lake. The other option would have been 7-wards, but we will have a warrior to do that.

Started Worker and Animal Husbandry.

Here are the discoveries we haven't been reporting:

Must be one of them "full of resources" map scripts. That southern rice is dry and in the jungle.

Another dry jungle rice, another clam. Looks like Commodore really wanted to pseudo-balance the slavery aspect by getting rid of food. Washington might just be the best leader here by some way.

Given the lack of luxuries, we felt that early Monarchy here is a decisive advantage. This pushes us towards the Oracle. But we also need Pottery. This suggests going as per the earlier microplan and passing on BW for quite some time. That has it's own problems, we won't be getting the maximum use out of Imp, as Slavery would be delayed and we might be passing on hammers from the copper tile, if it's in capital. Getting both BW and Pottery before trying Oracle is highly unlikely to work. OTOH, we can then research Monarchy by hand, it's down the same line after all, and we will still have the options of trying for Oracle, should there be few other takers. Hmm...

We started on Meditation as per microplan above, and still no-one has founded a religion yet... Unlikely to get it, but who knows.

I completely revised our worker management in comparison to the above microplan. We already came off it, when the first worker went to build the horse pasture in our second city, and now so as not to delay the mine that we still need, we will probably have to skip some turns of cottage building. I also completed the road to the river, so we can get a trade route sooner. We still complete the second mine in the capital on T39, in time to start producing that settler.

Well, as soon as GermanJoey hits enter, we are rolling for Buddhism (or getting it, if no-one is competing). I didn't really expect us to have a chance on T40 with two Mysticism civs, but clearly everyone needs AH for their lands, and no-one was brave enough to delay BW.
