RB Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Peter of Byzantium

I think maybe you agreed to outlaw this, but if not, could you beg another city for a couple of turns from another civ while you get your settler out? Or is the settler not finished yet?

You're right that the other teams would likely protest (and we wouldn't be so dastardly anyways, despite what the lurker corp thinks of us), but regardless the settler is not yet complete.

The other big problem is that the city wouldn't be for just a couple of turns. If the capital fell, then the palace would end up there and couldn't be gifted back until it was rebuilt... could be a long time?

Plus it is 'well cheesy'!

Am praying at the RNG too - good luck!

@Sunrise or @Darrell - Any interest in a last ditch capitulation style effort? Something like we give them the prophet, agree to never attack them, and sail off to our island / peninsula.

Not sure if they'd take it, but I don't know if we even want to send it since we might rather just take the loss and move on, rather than hang around in a game where we're destined to be a 2nd rate civ (especially with no tech trading)

And @Thawk - Not sure if I'd want to but it seems like the other civs might not like that since I may have preconceived notions about folks.

I wouldn't mind asking them for their terms. There isn't an "unconditional surrender" feature in civ, but they may be able to think of something. I probably will not vote to accept the offer though.

I decided to not post this as a reply in the email thread. But I thought it was funny so I'll post it here lol

athlete4life10 Wrote:I posted this in our personal thread but Kalin hasn't had a chance to respond. If the turns are played in exactly the same manner I have no objection to a reload. The information learnt was going to be learnt at some point and if Byz plays in the same manner than they've not been able to use it to their advantage (or anybody else if they've told anybody). Again Kalin hasn't been able to mention if he supports this or not, but in fairness to DSPlaisted I'm open to a reload so long as EVERYBODY plays EXACTLY the same moves as before.

Athlete

Well..... even though it's a) obviously against the rules of this game, b) against the spirit of fair play that the RB community has been about for years, c) there is NO way we could possibly get away with it and d) everyone else has decided that it's in our best interests to die rather than help us survive by say, giving us metal,

we WERE going to use this reload to whip 5 spears (on the same turn).

Actually, don't tell anybody, but sunrise actually killed IamJohn and darrell has been on a covert assignment to Kodii, trying to interfere as much as possible so he wouldn't have time to play his pitboss games. All as part of our grand plan to cause the Incans to need a new player, so we can install our puppet dsplaisted, who will request a reload for our grand scheme.

But since our evil schemes have been found out, I guess we'll just play the turn the same way....

Well I think what you did post (Edit: in the tech thread) was better formulated smile.
I understand and sympathize with your aggravation.

There's a fine line between reputation and rumour.

Yeah but this one was funnier lol

It is things / posts / ideas like Athletes that are leading me to wonder if I should even bother taking part in PB3....

I've known people to take advantage of reloads to replay differently before, so stating such a relatively benign understanding beforehand is probably a wise precaution to take. Having rules such as that constantly stated helps new players to the forum to understand what is, and is not acceptable, and with the massive influx of new posters over the past 8 months it's only more important that it gets done.

He chose his words extremely poorly. Obviously, he should have said ...

"While we have revealed critical information to our enemy this turn, I have no problem with a reload given than rego and his team are stand up guys and we trust them not to abuse that information"
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.
