Well clearly your closest stone will also be halfway across the map then.

How the heck do you draw an arrow *behind your neck*? And the bow string appears to pass in front of his chest, under his neckpiece, and behind his hat. So I guess the horses are in no real danger: he'll just get a bruise on the back of his neck and the arrow will flop to the ground. Or was this picture included strictly for meta purposes, recognizing the errors?
Edit: great job on the analyses, as usual. Although a little context for those oblivious to Final Fantasy would be helpful.
I just wanted a WC picture... then I looked at it and saw the insanity you've pointed out and knew it was perfect. I'll touch on the memes/FF characters in a sec.

Wow this map is green
We better not have any strategic resources or I'm not going to know what to complain about. Maybe barbarians will kill all my starting units again and save the day.
Yeah, looks very green. Though personally green isn't that huge a deal to me. I'll feel better when I see more rivers and more grass hills. But I'm a skeptic.

Generally speaking, the meat of the analysis is in the "Known Knowns." The memes and gifs at the end are for fun first, productive analysis second. Noble, you're he worst person ever to comment on how comprehensible a gif is because you literally know less about pop culture than anyone I've ever met. But I accept that I have a predilection for using wrestling pictures that probably don't appeal to 95% of readers. But I don't think its hard to figure out that all the guys raising the arms up and down are excited about something or that a guy going "Nope" means something isn't going to happen, or that a kid excited giving a thumbs up signal indicates approval.
Anyway, I do those mostly because I enjoy doing them. If anyone else also takes enjoyment from them, then that's a welcome bonus. And certainly if anyone wants me to explain a specific choice of character/job/characteristic/gif I'm happy to do so.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I certainly don't get WWE. Never have, even when my friends in high school were all really into it. But I do enjoy seeing them here: they give that charm that makes a Gaspar preview.
And even with the ones he's chosen, you can tell the thought he's trying to convey even if you have no idea what WWE is about. Well, sometimes I do wonder what he's thinking...

You sure about that? IIRC, that ocean was huge.

Turn 004
Good news! We unlocked the hunter deck and can give everyone salty oceans of tears
Commodore and THH both also researched a 4-turn tech. Assuming that people are making sane tile choices, Commodore just finished teching either Hunting or Fishing, because he already has Mining (43b) and Mysticism (43b) and there isn't enough time to finish Agriculture (52b) or Wheel (52b).
Total Rival Soldier Points last turn was at 10,000. This turn they are at 14,000 (see below). So I'm going to peg both Commodore and THH as teching Hunting this last turn.
The other two civs are a little more interesting. Our EXP civ (Ichabod) is working a 1f2h tile to get his worker out faster. I'm going to assume that this is a straight 1f2h tile, and not the fancy 1f2h1c spice version. So that means Ichabod is teching a 1st row tech that is not Hunting, likely Agriculture (makes sense with his starting techs). And the 19GNP is someone working a 1 commerce tile that is teching either BW or AH (if they're doing a different 2nd-row tech as their first choice, then more power to them; I won't mind being wrong).
And xenu, you'll be happy to hear that after a long period of reflection our scout decided that he did have the strength to move on, and did not drown himself in the salty ocean.
