Most of this turn was dedicated to preparing for the upcoming golden age and crapping ourselves at TBS' burgeoning stack. While we can't see, we've been able to C&D that he's added 26 Cavalry and 9 Rifles the last 3 turns. That's a lot.
Beyond that, there really isn't anything exciting to tell you that I haven't told you recently. Workers are doing work at the new burgs both founded and conquered and we're get missionaries to places that need to benefit from Pacifism. When we're not doing that, we're building units. I'd show you f1, but it doesn't all fit on one screen. #humblebrag
So here's a look at the south, where we're halfway modernized:
And here's what a 20 Cavalry turn looks like:
You look at that, and you can't imagine he'd attack us and yet...
I'll get a bit more deeply into the pre-Golden Age stuff tomorrow.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?
Boldly: I'm not dignifying that with a response more than this.
t160 - ITS PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME
Normally, of course, I wouldn't be so excited about the leader beating up on a weak sister but when the alternative is beating up on us, well... sorry, Oxy. I expect the fight to go something like this:
Well, more like this actually:
Because Commodore is almost assuredly attacking Oxy soon. I can already see the post about the Legion liberating Oxy from the clutches of the evil Black Sword or something. Anyway, decent enough chance we jump back in sometime after the treaty expires ourselves. We paid Oxy for OB as stated earlier and so we got vision on this:
That island would like nice in green - the Iceland to our Greenland. In a perfect world we'd also raze Chaz and plant a more favorable northern future border with TBS. And in the south, Homeskillet and Gurton would be nice prizes:
Let's not get ahead of ourselves, but we'll keep our eyes open.
In domestic news, we've been trying to spread Taoism a bit to take better advantage of Pacifism during the pending GA. Unfortuantely, we failed to spread to Atlantis. We were successful at Hogsmeade and Tartarus. We have a missionary heading to Olympus next turn and we'll take a second shot at Atlantis the turn after that. If the Olympus missionary fails, we may delay popping the GA by a turn. Its pretty crucial to our future prospects (har har har) that we get as many GP as possible during this GA so the fact that we're going to miss getting a missionary to Nysa hurts already. Anyway, that's basically what we're up to - hoping we can fire the 2-man next turn.
We went ahead and swapped tech to Banking, as you can see in the screens above so we'll swap Caste/Merc/Pacifism with hopes of getting Representation before the GA is done. Steel is going to wait - we have to take advantage of the time TBS has given us. TBS is up to ~27 Cavs and 12 Rifles so yeah...

So the main thing is we decided to delay the golden age by a turn to get optimal Taoism spread. So this will be a pretty short report as we did next to nothing interesting. I promise I'll talk more next turn during the GA as there will be more fun stuff going on. I suppose the most interesting part of the turn is we got eyes on most of Oxyland's units:
Uh...
Fabienne: Who's land is this? Gaspar: Oxy's. Fabienne: Who's Oxy? Gaspar: Oxy's dead baby, Oxy's dead.
Beyond that, we moved units around and built workshops and windmills. I really don't have anything interesting to add. Here's a shot of the capital region:
Here's what a power spike looks like:
And the demos:
Any questions from the lurkerdom?

In other news, Oxy lost his island city and border city to TBS. He's probably going to lose another coastal city which he inexplicably didn't bother to whip last turn.

Well, if I'm Butch in this scenario, I'm not sure where I can save him to earn reprieve.

Border pop sucks, though we did get a free spread in Purgatory. Borders will be awkward for a bit but it can't be helped.
More concerning is that Oxy seems more interested in defending against potential threats from Us or Commodore than the live threat from TBS. Given how little he whipped/moved units to the front last turn, I expect Oxy's whole empire to be brown in less than 10t. Not good.
The lesson, as Thoth found out in the south, it is always better to be the second guy to attack.
