I think I've already predicted that, but you can back me up if you want
I don't think Spullla are going to be doing all that great from a population PoV afterwards though, AK/IKZ/Whosit are going to be much further ahead in population and just working mass cottages.

It looks like Whosit is realizing his mistake in signing up for the CoW. I think his decision to join the CoW was the most questionable of the CoW members. If he had focused more on destroying Korea, then he would have open land to on all sides and could expand like crazy instead of building 4 galleys and more Praets and shipping them halfway around the world.
Maybe the war with Korea could be over quickly enough that it still works out for him. I still don't see why he's so eager to send his troops all the way over to India. Maybe he just really wanted an alliance and this was a way to demonstrate good faith?

If you can time travel, by all means you can be first

Shoot. Well let me just put my backing on that second (or third, or whatever)

How about this:
You were the first player to call it

I think Kathlete and Whosit are the big winners from the CoW stuff - less risk to themselves, remove the danger of a runaway tech team and they're both in strong postions to expand and, even better, not on the frontlines if by some weird twist it all goes wrong.
Figure Whosit was already planning the army for Korea, so getting further use out of it for the diplomatic benefits/rival stomping would seem good? I do agree that sending it off and diverting resources into galleys before Korea is dead seems a bad idea.
Thinking Dantski and Jowy potentially get to carve up indias cities (if not razed) or at least get some nicely developed lands to squabble over.
The group I think it makes least sense for are Nakor/DMOC and their no expansion room. Build an army to help out other players with more room. Woot. I almost think they'd do better aligned with Spulla and stabbing Dantski in the back - but the diplomatic fallout would be too horrendous to contemplate at this point.
Feeling a touch sorry for Spulla, but guess they've just set themselves up as too tall a poppy. Think as someone upthread said, that scientist was possibly a step too far!

Running binary science isn't helping either as people concentrate on the high value and not the average value. They should be running flat (or slightly below to build up some cash for emergencies) so that they don't stick their heads out as much. Guess we call this play the 'Spullla effect' ('doing something so brilliant so as to make everyone else have to kill you')
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Lol - I do love that term for it!
Hadn't really thought of that drawback to binary science before, but it's a good one!
I was contemplating that Spulla's reputations probably aren't helping them either - if it was 2 completely unknown players doing that, I think they might get cut a tiny bit more slack?

Yeah -- they're favorites in the actual game, but losers in the metagame. Theoretically, anyway. I don't think the CoW will actually pull it off, but good on them for trying.

Someone without the reputation may have received a little more slack in terms of people may have waited a bit longer to see if they really were that good but really any team that gets that far ahead in a game like this is going to be targetted. Probably almost best to just hold back your civ a bit so as not to draw attention but keep it setup well to grow quickly when needed.
In other words they're playing a great game of civ, not a very good political game though.
