Jowy voted no for rule change.
zakalwe Wrote:I was thinking the same thing, that without the slaving restrictions, players might be more willing to play either half of the turn. That seems to be the real issue, anyway - who gets to play second. Jowy says he is unhappy about the rules now, but he sure didn't complain when he thought he could claim the second half of the turn.

Yeah I know, I was just saying that the reason he is now unhappy is that he might not get the second half of the turn. If he does get that, he will be happy.

BTW India sent us a very intriguing message asking us to side vs them.
WHile they're giving us a very strong proposal I'm assuming we have to say no. I'd actually side iwth India if we weren't part of CoW.
EDIT: I'll send them a email saying we're going to declare war on them in turn 105 ... it was part of our CoW plan after all. I'll put my apologies there.
This should be interesting.
I'd say they are technically betraying the CoW already by spilling the beans. And if Dantski also waits until turn 105, as was discussed, then that buys Spullla some very valuable time.

DMOC and company are crazy! to send the big reveal via email. The only things the CoW has going for them are the surprise of those units and the Roman arrival.

At least they don't mention Rome. If they did.... What I don't get is why they feel like they need to say anything. In my mind, you go through with CoW and don't tip your hand or you switch sides and spill everything. What they have planned is worst of both.

I wonder if he/she's thinking of it as a bargaining chip?
"Interesting. We like you, but we're obliged to fight you on T105. Any sweetners you'd care to offer?"

Yeah that is one crazy proposal from DMOC.
Also, this made me laugh, lurker gloves are off, apparently:

You cobble together a coaltion of five teams to take out Sullla and Speaker because they're simply so much more skillful at the game that without these underhanded techniques you and your allies wouldn't stand a chance against them.
You outnumber them 5 to 1. Sullla makes an innocent scouting move and detects your advancing armies. You attack. Despite all the above, you won't even grant them the second half of the turn to defend themselves in this conflict but try to twist the rules to your advantage.
Small, petty, and cowardly it is. Most unsportsmanlike.

@Svinlesha: You have every right to be impartial, I just didn't want to influence Jowy's actions by discussing his morals in his thread.
FWIW, the rules say nothing about being gracious to the underdogs...

Personally, I think the CoW (with the possible exception of Whosit) are probably making the "correct" play by ganging up on Spullla. But I still cheer for the team getting dogpiled.
That said, if Jowy/Kathlete's attack falters in the next few turns, then NaMOC's "correct" play might indeed be to jump ship and ally with Spullla.
