I'm waiting to see what sort of security horro show it's going to become. I'm still running along on Windows 7 and don't see any reason to upgrade as yet.

Serious question:
Did anyone discover a great new feature that Windows 10 has over Windows 7/8 that is a real improvement in everday workflow? I always read about advantages like - New Edge Browser (I'm a Firefox user) - Start menu is back (was never gone with Windows 7) - Boot to desktop (same) - DirectX 12 (ok, maybe nice to have for the future, but no games available yet) - Cortana assistant (might be useful for Windows phone, but I am not talking to my computer anyway) - Streaming from XBox to PC (I don't have an XBox and if I had why stream it to the PC?) The only thing I find interesting are the supposedly improved Hi-DPI settings. Especially on smaller screens, high resolutions were a PITA with certain programs.
As with most major releases I'd wait a while and let other people work out the initial bugs, unless you like troubleshooting the inevitable problems yourself.

If you're still on windows 7, then I would guess that the biggest difference in upgrading is that windows 10 (like 8) will run faster and more efficiently. I think it's worth upgrading for that reason, but I'm no expert. The one nice side effect of them shooting for being a tablet OS with windows 8 is they put a lot of effort into this area.
I'm even less of an expert on why one would upgrade from 8 to 10, I just seem to be less cynical about the current microsoft than most and generally expect them to be making improvements to windows over time. I did upgrade my secondary computer already to test it out and I can tell you that the drawback of installing windows 10 is it will take some time and mental energy to remove all the crap that it gives you by default. I'm probably going to wait a couple days and look for a guide, to be honest.
I just sync'd my Win7 ... so I plan to upgrade one of them to 10 so that I have a duel boot.

I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.
