Would participate if I get the game, which I feel is pretty likely right now.

I'm planning to get it at launch, a simple adventure/epic style event off the bat sounds fun.

Given that there are so many takers, it would be pretty fun to see 2-3 parallel succession games with different civs on the same map. Shotgun Spain smile

Or maybe a reprise of a Potluck style game? With the interest shown already and that would come around at game launch, surely we could get one of these running with multiple players per civ.

From the perspective of a reader, I'd generally prefer to see an adventure than a succession game for a launch event, because then it can be people's first game (or thereabouts), learning the rules, discovering strategies, making mistakes etc.
A succession game may start in that mode, but by the time it approaches its conclusion all of the participants will have played other games and have a much better idea of what to do.

Potluck also looks good.

As for adventure vs SG, I see the advantages of the latter in that it's a smaller time commitment per player, not everyone on the team has to have purchased the game, it's more social, everyone's input is more likely to actually contribute to the community (no-one is going to read all of the 20-odd reports), and the players are likely to learn more from the process of playing itself. Also, reports on adventures are not going to be nearly as detailed nor have as much discussion of decision-making as SG reports will. And as PB1 readily shows, you shouldn't be remotely concerned that by the time an SG concludes the game is anywhere near solved.

Nothing is stopping us from running several events anyway, an Adventure for those who have the time to play the game through and write up a report single-handedly in a relatively short amount of time, and those who necessarily have to take gaming more... er.. leisurely

This is also true. nothing stopping us from having a big Adventure as well as an SG (or a few) alongside it. And even maybe a rudimentary MP game if there's enough interest for that as well.

A potluck would be great- depending on when you release it, it'd possibly be my first game with Civ VI. No interest whatsoever in participating in an SG for similar reasons as rho states, but no reason there can't be one or two running concurrently.

I'm in the group that will wait to see some reviews. I can't afford to buy games on good faith, unfortunately. But if Civ 6 turns out good, I'd probably try to play some epics or maybe a SG.
