What are they supposed to say to Jowy? They don't want the NAP. There is no way to spin it, other than they'd like to keep their options open. It is quite frankly on Jowy at this point to justify why they should sign a long term NAP.
Darrell Is that a justification for the AI comment? It seems a little like a non sequentur, tbh. Actually, I'd say it's the AI comment that's the non sequitur. It may be the case that Spullla are treating their opponents as AIs, but I don't see how that follows from their turning down a NAP with Jowy.
Like they asked Jowy, why should they sign a NAP? Jowy came back with "because otherwise I'll build up my army" - but really, as long as that army is ancient era units and will further kill Jowy's chances of economic recovery, that wasn't really the best incentive Jowy could give (as indeed Spullla pointed out in their thread).
Btw, I'm pretty sure AIs don't sign extended NAPs.
I have to run.

Funny enough India is now offering a 10 turn NAP extension. I'll be curious if Greece can use this to determine the timeframe of the attack .

If he's still running around with axes when Spullla are cranking maces, it probably won't matter. Jowy's seen through Sullla's messages pretty well this whole game, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if he figured it out just based on that and his espionage (iirc he can still see India's tech).

I'm really wondering why is it that nobody has built the Pyramids in this game? To me it seems like one of the best wonders in the game. For Spullla, about to hook up three calendar resources and getting forges and markets, with whip anger wearing off, being philosophical and able to use the engineer points, and with stone, representation seems like an absolutely perfect fit. Or am I missing something and hereditary rule is still better for them?

Consider how much they would have to sacrifice in either military or essential infrastructure to do it, and it makes FAR more sense not to. Just too expensive.
In this game, anyone building the Pyramids is just begging to get them taken away. Whosit's investment in wonders is probably already too much...

Spullla would bomb out right now because of an extra 250 shields? That's less than two markets. Isn't the payoff worth it, even _just_ for the great engineer points perhaps?

200 base hammers with a forge in place, right? If the build is still available in their Hanging Gardens city after the courthouse there, it seems like a natural choice. It would provide a juicy target for conquest on their borders, but they are planning to move those borders further east anyway.
I have to run.
