Alright, indeed very nice turn pace today. Good night!

Will be interesting if the expansion breaks our game as well. Other organization threads in other PBEMs seem to worry.

We will probably get in another 10-15 turns before the expansion hits though, so we will see.

The only real concerns I've seen is Krill referencing a post by Japper in PBEM 7 about a patch, though I can't find the post he's referring to. The prognosticators at CivFanatics haven't made any mention of a patch, but they're also distracted by the expansion. I would think that outside of fixes to the base game none of the features & systems in R&F would get patched in.

When Civ 5 released an expansion did they also release a patch for those who didn't buy the expansion?

If I remember correctly, during one of the early livestreams (may be the 1st) they did mention that there will be a patch to the base game with some balance changes when they released R&F. And I also seem to remember them mentioning that the change to trade routes moving to the 1st building will be made to the base game.

Firaxis last 4 titles to get expansions (civ 5, XCOM 1&2 and Civ BE) all launched their expansions along  with a base-game patch to "cushion" the new mechanics. All these patches also broke previous saves outright or at least made them unplayable through bugs and glitches. I had to abandon multiplayer games of civ 5 after BNW and Beyond Earth after the release of Rising Tide. As well as several Ironman saves on XCOM after their expansions.

Firaxis doesn't have the best track record, though it might just be me being unlucky. 4 out of 4 so far would be extremely unlucky though...

Seriously, they are going to patch CD and harbours to not give trade routes? And we think that ongoing games are going to be playable with such drastic changes? Even if the patches don't break the saves, then rule changes mid game are...unpalatable.

I give that Trade Route change a 99% chance of making it into the base game and retroactive into saves well.
The Settler cost scaling increase from the last patch also made it in to pre-patch saves (which screwed some people in pbem4) and some of the balance changes introduced in BNW also retroactively affected old civ 5 saves (one of my civ 5 MP matches ended in all of us deciding to quit as we all suddenly didn't have have half of the happiness from buildings we had before the patch, dipping everyone into unrecoverable unhappiness duh )

Thanks Alhambram. I think Emperor K needs to concede as well, by now I think my advantage is overwhelming though.

Emperor K did post in his thread not frequently recently, so I did assume that he did give up already.
So basically this PBEM would be continuing till I concede, I assumed. Moreover as you said, your advantage is overwhelming.
