We are gonna play the same 7 civs for as long as Firaxis remains obsessively averse to making civs at a stable, vanilla-centric power level.
Edit: albeit I agree that France may have entered the "reasonable" range with the military buff to visibility.

The visibility bonus for all civilizations including France only applies in expansion, not in vanilla version. Same for America bonus, in vanilla still half legacy bonus time and in expansion extra wildcard instead diplomatic slot.
What is new in expansion don't always apply in vanilla version.

Whilst I'm more than happy to hold an discussion on what civs are junk...it's not like the discussion actually matters. Nothing will change until and unless modding was truly viable.

Modding is viable at least for balancing if not addition. Google message me.

I think I have a base map picked after rolling about 50 maps but want to make a few minor tweaks and need to look at resources. I will have time tonight and tomorrow night to do that and then want to post it to a lurkers thread for comments. Bacchus should have a starting save sometime this weekend.

Cheers Woden.
Brick, start a thread, talk about things, then just make the mod. Focus on on thing at a time and just make it for base civ 6 and not try to update it for R&F. And first things...leaders and civs.

You want a balanced game then roll snowflake map no city statess everyone the same Leader and make sure everyone has the same skill and voila Balanced Game .
Maybe boring as f*** but balanced. You chose not to play that way then please take your balance and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. The only way to balance this game is to cut down everything No War-carts no Legions no Mamluks no cossaks. No additional cards no special production or movement boni and no City States because those are quite unbalancing too.
So can we please concentrate on what is really important? That we have a nice game of Civ against Humans instead of stupid AI and that this is far more interesting and fun. If it means somebody else wins for whatever reason what does it matter?

Rowain I agree with your points, if everything is nerfed than the game has no life. If I were to make a mod, I wouldn't want to nerf down the best civs, I would rather buff the lower performing ones. Less "everyone is the same leader", more "FFH-style
if everyone is imbalanced, no one is".
And with that I'll stop on that thread in this one, and will continue it in another one when appropriate.
