Once you've played a thoasand games, you tend to know what is going to happen without having to think. Only stuff that changes is diplomacy and MM, and after a while you realise the same stuff happens there too.

I think it might be best for this PBEM to be a relatively 'beginner level' game.
We have seen lurkers who have come out of their anonymity to play and we know of others who want to. That's the best way to grow this community and then people won't get 'stomped' by the more experienced and practised players.
Its not up to me I know but I really think this is a better idea.

I think Twinkletoes raises a good point. The majority of interest for this game seems to be expressed from members that are less experienced (including myself). While I am somewhat confident and can hold my own in monarch/emperor SP, the truth is I have very limited MP experience. I have no objections to who eventually plays this game, I can just see the more experienced players like Ruff and Krill unsurprisingly mopping up.
Although this would probably not be the most exciting MP event happening at Realms Beyond, I think this does provide the opportunity to develop some of the less experienced members of this community, and surely that could only be a good thing. What this would mean for the conditions of the actual event I'm not too sure. For example, should lurkers be able to provide more leading questions or suggestions that tailor for a greater learning experience? I'm not saying we should necessarily do this, I'm just trying to be thought provoking to see if we could come up with something that best benefits the 'greener' members of this community.

If we chose quick speed, considerably faster than the other games. It all depends on things like tech trading, size of map, number of players.
We might even have enough players for 2 games judging by the other thread also?
Maybe a 'greens' game and a 'vets' game?

Playing the same map with same civs and starting locations? Each green has a vet "mirror image"? That would be fun to lurk, at least.

Hi, I am Kyans friend, I think he might have mentioned me already.
I am completely new at all this, so I would like to play but I would only be willing to play as a single player if it was newbies only.
