I think the difficulty here is that Mack’s Astro land is just about as far away from TBS’s core as possible on this map, regardless of whether he goes SW or SE and wraps the pole, or goes NW from his east coast and sails around Dreylin / Dtay to get there. So it’s naturally hard for him to settle, though at least exploring it to see how quickly Mack is getting his own cities up there would seem to be a good idea.

40ish tiles around the top to Mackland, 25ish to OT Australia, both from east coast, 40ish from West coast to Commodorian Australia. So I was wrong about the conflict with OT there.

The east coast is his coast with less naval production, so it makes sense he'd focus on closer lands first in that direction. But he could probably afford a ship to at least explore Mack's island.

"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

There isn't much reason to worry about a premature end to this game damaging RB's MP ethos, given that comparable matches regularly terminate via player consensus before someone achieves a formal win condition, and that I doubt we'll be hosting another similarly giant Civ IV Pitboss any time soon. More worrisome is the bizarre sequence of players abandoning their civs to take the reigns of their neighbors. That sort of thing has been almost unheard of here, and it's normalizing players having spoiler knowledge.

Fintourist' complaint is actually quite legit IMO (not that I know what to do in this case). Only a few turnus ago, BGN was asking OH/Fin about their plans and now he is far from being neutral as a sub for GJ.
