PBEM4 - Email and Technical Issues

Ruff_Hi Wrote:yeah - I can do this.

Just so I am clear, let me restate the problem ...

Strike ... was #1, stays #1
Seifer ... was #2, becomes #4
Kyan ... was #3, becomes #2
Malakai ... was #4, becomes #3
Jowy ... was #5, stays #5
Cull ... was #6, stays #6

What am I moving? Am I just changing the starting order but not the location, or am I also moving the units to the different starting location? I guess I am asking if the starting location goes with the civ or with the start order.

Oh - anyone got the wb file? Email it to ruff dot hi at gmail dot com

Hey Ruff,

Thanks for your offer of help. It would be most appreciated. So far both Strike and Seifer have seen their starting locations. This isn't an issue for Strike but as Seifer is changing order- it will be best if he keeps the same starting location if possible.

Otherwise he'll know a considerable amount about someone else's capital. Personally, if it's impossible to change this then im happy for him to know my capital's details as long as we can actually play.

So, to answer your question, the starting location would be preferred to go with the civ but as it is only myself this would affect, i'm happy with whatever makes life easiest for yourself.

Ok ... here is the plan ...

1) change the order of the players as outlined above
2) change the order of the civs - so that the civs tie to the player
3) change the starting locations - so that the start goes with the civ / player

I can do that. Just need a WB save smile.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Superb. I believe either Speaker or Strike could provide this.

You're a gentleman. Thank you.

Krill, did you receive your save for the second turn? Or how can I see if the site processed the save successfully?

Krill's working today, and he works long shifts, so I suspect he'll be around in a couple of hours.

Kylearan, can you send the save to pbem dot repositories, at the google mail server? (You should be bale to figure out the address from that)...

I've not yet received the save from the site, and I don;t think I will. I think you need to send it to me manually and I can update the tracker thread so it can work. We can use it from turn 1 onwards.

Just repeating it corrected for starting at '0' instead of '1' so that I am clear.

Strike ... was #0, stays #0
Seifer ... was #1, becomes #3
Kyan ... was #2, becomes #1
Malakai ... was #3, becomes #2
Jowy ... was #4, stays #4
Cull ... was #5, stays #5

Reordered file attached. Let me know if it is in the correct order.

edit: <file removed>

...or not, as the mail just bounced ("mail account does not exist"). Seems I'm too stupid (or too drunk at the moment...) to construct the mail address. Could you please send me a mail from/with the address I should send the save to to andre dot wichmann at gmx dot de (or a pm via the forum)? Thanks, and good night...

When I clicked "view turns" on the tracker, it looked to me like you uploaded your own save smile. The genreated save should have "Darius" somewhere in the filename.

Nope, I definitely uploaded the "*to_Darius*" save (from 3940BC, so really the correct one!); I just tried it again in case I screwed up the first time and the site still says "it's your turn".

And I don't know why Krill's cryptic mail address doesn't work; the only ambigous part is "at the google mail server" which I translated to "googlemail.com" - and the mail bounced. So I need either a mail directly from Krill or a post by him with a less cryptic mail address...
