Well it's now or never to unlock that other thread. If you don't unlock you have to ban all "poltical" threads, including this one. But before that happens I want to say:

For Brexit I believe Krill's scenario of EU rejecting the extension (France, Spain and Belgium have said they would veto and it takes only one) forcing a No Deal vs Revoke showdown that Revoke wins in the most likely. Cooper amendment being flawed (it only talks about extensions without mentioning conditions EU might enforce) doesn't matter because May can still Revoke by herself and a Commons straw poll would put her under too much pressure.

I'm not sure May can revoke by herself. It's one of those situations where International law and Domestic Law clash: the Great Repeal Act can only be repealed itself by legislation including statutory instrument. De facto an SI can push the date of leaving back far enough to sort out any other problems, but legislation may still be required.

All the other stuff is hand waving, posturing and time wasting to get to this point.

PS. The threads should never have been closed. The behaviour that closed them should have been dealt with, not censuring the community that has been affected by the actions of the minority

Are we doing this again? I don't hold out high expectations that the "Screw you sweeden!" thread will turn out better than the other politics thread that was locked all of like two weeks ago. I would prefer this thread be deleted and politics junkies can visit Krill's offsite forum.

I have occasionally checked the politics thread and I don't really participate, but I do think that allowing for a single politics thread to be on the forum should be allowed. Preferably we should unlock the other thread and keep it contained there. I understand the issues with personal attacks, but we should simply make it clear that if an individual is warned that they get that warning. If they cannot abide by that warning then they are banned. Simple and understood, accepted by everyone. The fear that banning could result in a forum meltdown is overblown if the rules are established and agreed ahead of time.
