Krill Wrote:I disagree - Athlete was working out how to get a caravel because Spullla declared, then they blind sided him with the unit move at the end of htt turn, amphib style.

The exact same thing could have happened with 7 seconds left on the clock during any other turn of the war and it would have been legal. Why exactly is there a special exception for the first turn of the war?

Krill - If Athlete has the 'right to respond' in terms of slaving etc in the second part of the turn, surely action must be taken to prevent Spulla from moving in the last seconds of each turn - as that would be a clear breach of acting in good faith?

The thing is Athlete thought that Spullla is done with their turn. He didn’t check for their moves when logged in with 10 minutes to go on the timer. Had they declared war and moved with 10 minutes to go, he would have checked for their moves and would have adjusted his slaves accordingly.

'Tis a shame. But something like this really pisses me off. At the end of T206 I'm logged in changing tiles worked, builds and whipping and I configure Alderaan to have a Caravel due in 1T. Spullla has put a trireme and 2 galley's right beside the city but no units get out. Sullla logs in with about 10 min left, so DMOC, myself and Sullla are all in. DMOC says to me I wonder what Sullla's doing. Me I don't care, I figure he's done all he can for this turn.

NOPE. WRONG!!!

He unloads the 2 galley's onto my incense and I don't notice. So Alderaan's city's governer decides rather than work a plains tile or hire a general labourer to get the caravel due in 1, he's going to work a farm and F**K me. Well I fired his fat a** and whipped a Jann so hopefully I surive T207 but man was I mad at the stupid governer. Oh well...

Could kathlete be WBed a Jan, then the one which appears next turn (assuming they don't take the city this turn) would be deleted? That would seem to pretty closely mimic what should have happened by the rules, without the hassle of a reload.

+1 I think that is an excellent solution smile

Yes, it is a problem, and one I've been trying to figure out a solution to. The problem is coded into the game though, nothing I can really do about it. The only half decent solution I've thought of is to enforce a reaction time window, but that is useless unless a player can log in at a second specific time each day.

I mentioned this earlier in the thread, fwiw. The ideal solution to the double move/turn partition problem requires that the turn gets completely split, including when units become available for battle and production/beakers are calculated. In other words, go play sequential turns...

More specifically, he would have had a Jan this turn to defend with, to protect Alderaan, but the rules breakage removed this Athlete play.

Sorry Krill, but I think your official ruling is nowhere as good as beamups suggestion for a solution... Now you run the risk that Kathelete will change the way they play their turn based on them knowing where which units are going to attack... I think you should have required that all moves prior to Spulllas mistake were repeated to avoid that. If that is not done IMHO I think you punish Spullla if Kathlete acts on huge spoiler information granted by said reload. I don't mean to be disrespectful, just trying to make a point smile

Spullla had a choice, to move everything with 2 hours remaining on the turn, or to wait until next turn to move everything. That information that you think is spoiler information Athlete should have been able to act upon anyway. That was the way the rule got written.

However, all Athlete can do is change builds, slave, and tile improvements. He can't move any units.

Fair enough smile Anyway I just hope that things calm down (I definitely think that Speaker attacking you personally was out of line) and Civ playing can commence... I have so much to learn and do enjoy reading the updates smile

*shrug* Speaker has never really respected me, not like I expect him to start now. If it was CFC he'd probably be banned for the next month, but luckily this isn't CFC.

All I want to doright now is to get the game moving again with everyone happy with each other. They can hate me all they want.
