Sistine grants culture bonus to all specialists, not just artists. A citizen can pop borders.

Take your revenge in-game, but respect your opponent as a person - regardless if you're a moderator or not. All the talk about sportsmanship sounds hollow if you behave like that. To be quite honest, I have stopped paying regular attention to this game due to how some people are treating in other in this game. :-\ But yeah they do post their honest thoughts. Its just not very tactful in tone. Atleast their posts contain lots of quality information. Also the border pop with citizen thing is pretty neato
The reason for AK's retreat
PS. The more I read of Spullla's thread the more I get sick of them. I hope I don't have to play with them again. Jowy Wrote:The more I read of Spullla's thread the more I get sick of them. I hope I don't have to play with them again. You know, reading their thread is voluntary . Darrell
I don't really understand how Athlete's retreat is a huge mistake. He's correctly determined that he's doomed either way. I understand the RB ideal of fighting against the odds, but come on, Spullla and Slaze are obviously going to crush him. He's beat any way he defends, which makes mistakes kind of impossible.
Quote:Well, I guess I can answer on that one. They managed to threaten three different cities of mine at the same time, I was ready for max two. It probably could have been prevented.. well, not really, but atleast I could have prolonged the time it'd take for them to capture cities from me. It's kinda funny since we were going to do the same thing to Spullla in a couple of turns (i would threaten two cities, rome one and you one, forcing them to split their forces for the first time and probably losing a city or two, then from there they wouldn't have enough cities to recover). I haven't read through all the spoiler threads yet so I don't have all the details, but it would have been fun to atleast play it out and see what happens.Just for the record that's what I posted on Dantski's thread, then edited it out five mins later after Krill's warning. I doubt Dantski saw it. Sorry guys, didn't think there was any spoilers there.
FWIW, I don't think that was all that bad...just better safe than sorry. The game shouldn't last more than a month or two either. If it went much further then it could have been pretty weird.
Does anyone think it would be in Spullla's best interests, diplomatically and/or strategically, to aid Danski a lot more in this upcoming war, possibly by gifting some rifles perhaps? It seems to me it would be a way to fight Nakor/DMOC, their biggest threat right now, by proxy and keep up the buffer between them while they go and crush slaze? (Of course for all I know slaze the war god will successfully fight off their rifles and cavs with longbows and quechuas!)

It will be an epic failure if Spulla somehow don't win this. In regards to what Athlete should be doing, I will point out in this pic: He has cities at size 16, 14, 13, and 10. I understand he's somewhat given up, but so did Slaze, but I'd say that just made Slaze whip his cities even more. Whether or not retreating is the right play or not (I don't really think it is myself), leaving a city at size 16 is not at all if that means losing it. |
