I don't agree with MSs focus on razing, especially for what will become a backline. It just makes the war quite a bit more expensive.

I don't mind the raze as he plans on founding in a different spot.
That being said I would not move it and therefore not raze and resettle. I would totally make it a production city and irrigate from the river (I think there are 2 ivory there so he still has one). Plus as Nauf is RIGHT there a hill city has advantages.

Just to comment further on the tech thread, it is ridiculous for anyone to be upset with MS for asking that question. It is a very reasonable expectation that someone in the first half of the timer will leave the next player at least several hours, given they have an 18+ window before then. If they cannot do that (and things happen), it is their responsibility to ask for an extension for the next player.

Its not something I would have done, but I don't blame Magic for doing it and think the rest of the players are being a bit harsh. Just because someone isn't playing their turns promptly doesn't mean they get 2nd half of the turn automatically.

He apparently didn't even want second (though that is almost irrelevant imo); he just got stuck with it after playing after them the turn beforehand.

There needs to be a decisive battle at Cathy Ames ASAP (it pins all three of them in place) but how long until MS gets knights?

OH HOW I HATE SYMMETRICAL MAPS ... and edited resources.
Just to note I believe only the copper is exactly symmetrical. I don't remember where Gavs iron is honestly or if I placed at all. I may have already mentioned this, but in general people who were missing horse often got iron put in their capital and then I put the horse where the iron was so I wasn't meddling too much. A couple of people like Nauf did start with iron in capital, which is why I felt fine swapping it there for a couple of others. My memory is that Pin was missing horse so yes his horse is where his iron was and then I moved iron to capital.

To be fair to pin, if you'd mentioned what you dud with the copper I would have protested.

So something as a player I'm not the biggest fan of is when it feels like the map maker placed my copper city for me, which is going to be my 2nd or 3rd city. If you are creative you can somewhat avoid this, but if you aren't the map maker placed (most of the time) your 2nd or 3rd city which DEFINETELY doesn't feel right for a random game. By placing it in 3rd ring it ensures a little more flexibility. Problem with 3rd ring is you open up axe rushes by someone settling on it so I put in the corners (PB62 should show this lesson on tighter maps). I might have to change this if I make another map as I think people have figured it out though.
Past that here was my methodology.
1) There couldn't be another resource there already as then I would have to move that somewhere.
2) There had to be food in that direction (again with 3rd ring pops I was pretty loose with this)
3) If there were multiple sites I rolled a dice.
