HAH. I'd be curious to see a screenshot when you get a chance, as I'm really curious how that happened. Whether Totestra did some weird normalization when using the same seed, or if there was a WB misclick at some point.

I'm still trying to sort out screenshots, they do not seem to take in the normal way at the moment.

TBH it's really hard to see, I'd put a fiver on it being a simple misclick. It's one of those things that it really doesn't matter anywhere near as much as the delayed border pops. I'm going to have to farm most of this peninsula and whip it into the ground to spread into the mainland.

Oh, that one's my fault; I'm the one who edited the starts to (try to) match the screenshots. I probably accidentally edited a 2 into a 1 in the wrong place without realizing it, unless the game's generator decided to flatten a hill for the advanced start or raise one for the wbsave - and then between the dark (fogged) colors of the screenshot, the absence of tile yield symbols, and the otherwise-(near?-)identical positions of mountains, hills, and flatlands between the screenshots and the save, and the fact that I looked at your area last, I just completely missed the discrepency. My apologies!

Ref, don't worry about it. It's an inconsequential matter.

Lurkers can laugh at the double fish/corn/pig settling dilemma if you want.

I'm dead last in all demographics except mfg where I'm joint last. The GNP discrepancy I don't quite get though. I'm not worried, this is the easiest land to barb bust in a raging barbs game, then there is IMP with a decent number of forests to chop to help catch up. This game is definitely a marathon and not a sprint.

So how long do you think this game goes ?
Knights, Rifles or even tanks ?

The map is big. I think we make it to inf, possibly tanks. The naval changes makes a true decap strike far less likely to work. This will be a true grind at the end, unless we all play for space.

I know I've not been reporting this game. There's not much to discuss, I haven't found anything except three huts which have given me XP on a scout (I've never had a 15XP scout before, it's quite bizarre) and that there is always vacant land the other side of a hill or forest.

Is there anything you guys want to see? I could do a world map stitch?

I guess from your previous reporting that you only have the one direction to expand into? A map would be welcome, as would be thoughts on settlements. What is your tech plan?

I'll make the map next turn.

Every big game I play I end up with a "Road to no where" strategy. Build up the core few cities, then spread out in one direction. This will be the ultimate "Road to no where" game because the capital is around 40 tiles from the nexus of more land, and I need one road to get there. The plan is straightforward: row of archers gradually moving down the map, barb busting as they go, double stacked to avoid bad luck from barb axes.

I have Vicky so the plan is to stack whip unhappiness as high as I need in most cities and use one or two production cities to hand build military and workers to keep the line moving.

Tech, the plan is to ignore tech. Land uber alles, PBEM5B style. Except IW, I need IW.

Not-quite-serious suggestion for thread title and naming scheme: The Long March.
