I'm just going to assume at this point that everyone else has conceded...it seems reasonable when I look at the map.
GG guys.
Congrats, Krill!
I conceded nearly two months ago, I think.

Cheers everyone. Does anyone want me to pass the save along so you can take any final screenshots, or are you all OK with surrendering on PYDT without me playing the turn?
I just don't think the default mapscripts are good enough in any competitive setting, without heavy doctering or someone rerolling a few. If I might make a suggestion: the CPL people use a map mod (Better Balanced Maps, or BBM) that allows you to use the regular mapscripts but with some tweaks like player minimal distance and some guaranteed 2/2 or better tiles and strategics at the start that make the maps more equal without needing a map maker (though they do reroll). I've been using it in Single Player because I hate how they always drop you either waaay to isolated or way to cramped together.
Nonetheless been a very fun game to read along with, thanks for all the great threads! Will be looking forward to your postgame analyses.
Krill crushing everyone with Yongle (after horrible start) might made me add to the banlist. Didn't get selected in PBEM 25.
The only Civ that got picked twice was Toku by CMF and Whosit and CMF won tiebreak. If Whosit won tiebreak he would have gotten Toku and CMF selected Thedora of Byzantium as his backup. Edit: Keep in mind, due to start bias, the map would be different too.
A leader/civ should be banned if there is no counter play available. There is counter play to Yongle: Don't trade him amenities, invade, make him build units. Don't give him DoF for 150 turns, don't enable him to arbitrage amenities because no one scouted the map, and cram units in his face when you get the chance. This game is not a good example of how to play against him.
The map wasn't even that bad. The barbs were (after reading Chev's thread, yeesh, that was hard to look at). |
