I'm probably not playing another game for a few months. And I actually highly prefer having a teammate to not.

Sweet, four vets and one novice it shall be.
Let's discuss settings. I thought the pbem39 settings were just about perfect; I advocate using something similar to them but without the weird starts. Here they are:
Quote:Map and settings information
* Toroidal, Standard size, 40x40, players are all equidistant from all others.
* It's totally mirrored. (The tile that is (x,y) away from my capital is the same as the tile (x,y) away from anyone else's capital.)
* No barbs, no huts, no random events.
* Always war.
* Prince difficulty.
* While there is enough saltwater that ships will be important, there are not enough water tiles to make circumnavigation possible. (It requires at least 33% water tiles, and there are only about 25%.)
Rules recap
* No communication between players is allowed.
* Goes without saying, but play in good faith and put up a good fight.
* The only bans are:
- Spy missions.
- Great spy infiltration ability.
- Nukes.
- All UN/AP resolutions if AW doesn't automatically disable them.
- War Elephants
Since I made a map script that can pop out similar maps quite easily, our mapmaker could just focus on doing a couple tweaks to make sure it's interesting and wouldn't have to painstakingly construct another such map from scratch.
The main aspect of this IMO that could be seen as a flaw is the total mirroring. There is value in variety though also in equal starts.
What would you all like from the map/settings?

I'm fine with this Seven. I would like pre-placed improvements tbh and I wouldn't mind if somebody came up with some changes in your start depending on what starting techs you have etc. Similar to 32 (and I think 38 or 39 right?).

Seems good to me. I guess I prefer no preplaced improvements but I don't mind either way.
I have to run.

Your words hurt me.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

We need opinions from Mackoti and Nicolae, and a mapmaker.
