Converters between phpBB and vBulletin are well established, and have as much history as both packages. And if you have a basic knowledge of SQL and text processing scripts, you can easily cope even with most heavily modified forum packages. I used to be very into forum software, that's how and why I learned PHP. Migrating platforms is easy, especially if you have some coding background, and we have a wealth of technical talent here.
