I've considered doing that but decided against it.

Didn't we agree by chat that trading with a backwards civ is better than giving +1 happy to our neighbor when the benefit to us is the same?

Remember folks, it's always death to Commodore.

Hey, I'm perfectly okay with trading with Commodore. But I agree with scooter that if Black Sword had been a viable trade option, he would have been preferable.

Did you prefer a deal with Commodore? I thought for sure you agreed with me that giving the +1 happy to someone who isn't a threat to win was generally preferable. Anyway...

Turn 088

Here's the infamous trade offer:

I'm glad I snapped a screenshot of this, because as you see by the timestamp, I would have had doubts on whether I just slept-played the turn if not for the proof lol. Anyway, our galleys:

Note the sign. I thought about killing Lewwyn's work boat for about 1.3 seconds, then I decided that dealing with Angry Neighbor Lewwyn for the rest of the game sounded like the worst idea ever. No thanks. Our western galley:

Declared on suttree to pass through. Let's be careful not to land on seafood - I want to make it very clear we're only passing through, and we're not going to give him trouble. Here is me granting Noble's wish:

I'll unfog the next couple tiles next turn, but we're pretty close to being able to lock in a dotmap here. Anyway, we settled a new city:

Named for the Portland Timbers in the MLS. The name just seemed appropriate given the large quantity of forests nearby. Sideways culture shot because why not:
