You'd be surprised. There was a case where four video feeds were available for an incident, three of which made people conclude that the cop used excessive force. The fourth became available later and was conclusive that the cop did the right thing. So the cop, in real time, made the right decision while a majority of video angles were misleading.

Except that whatever he chooses one of us thinks he's wrong, so you've spent a huge amount of money and interrupted the game and you haven't fixed the problem.

We think they are wrong because they usually are. Use that technology and don't fuck it up and then people will begin to trust in the judgements.

I actually meant the Greek penalty where he (appeared to) trip himself.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

That's a borderline call (the Italy red.) I certainly don't think Italy has a right to feel aggrieved there. They have other reasons to feel aggrieved of course.
I also really hate, no offense Harry, the very English desire to equate diving to violent behavior. Overly violent behavior is a much, much worse blight on the game than diving but in the English media a foreign player diving gets a thousand articles written whereas an English player breaking someones leg with a reckless and dangerous tackle gets a thousand articles written apologizing for him. Only one of those two actions ends someones career, though.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I'd be OK with both actions ending someones career.

I'm only going off the animated gif, mind you. I see him graze the outside of the shin there, which is a yellow. In an actual replay there would be a multitude of replay angles to review with. Or they can use my idea and put omnidirectional cameras with wifi inside the ball for replay.
Clearly the most sensible solution is: ( )
1) Penalize anything that remotely looks like it should be penalized.
2) Do the replays after the game and negate any goal scored as a direct result of a spurious free or penalty kick.
Think about it, games will end 13-12 and we won't know who the actual winner is until an hour after the game!
Edit: I guess the problem would be people potentially being sent off which would affect the rest of the game. Shows how ridiculous the penal system in soccer is, I suppose.

The Italian red was correct. There was no chance to play the ball at all and the attack was done without any consideration of the opponents safety.
That Suarez got away with his bite is the real bad thing but honestly Italy didn't deserve to reach the next round.
The Greek penalty was a clear one. The defender hit the greek-players leg and forced him to trip. From all the penalties given so far that was the most clear one. As much as I shudder by the thought of another Greek tournament win with their non-football they deserved the win in this game.
