[SPOILERS] Serdoa goes back in time ... kinda

(December 2nd, 2013, 11:41)Serdoa Wrote: Well, it sucks for my archers as well. But it isn't bad as long as you know it before you pick. My fault for not checking in game though. Still, I'd probably pick a different civ if I knew that, G2 is not good enough for the investment necessary.

But isn't it G2 that gives double movement in hills and enables G3, which is a very interesting promotion? I think it's way better than G1 (and the G1 value doesn't make that much difference, at least for me).

Why does Lewwyn always attack me? *sigh* So any chances for this game (and I had none to begin with) are now gone for good because Lewwyn joined Commodore and attacked me. Also I won't win a two-front war, it is just a matter of time before I crumble under the combined forces. I'll lose a(nother) city this turn, lost one last turn already. Lets hope they make it quick - but looking at my stacks, I doubt they can.

You said you would be going back in time...to PBEM 14. wink

Seems like it lol At least in this case I can see Lewwyns reasoning for attacking me - partly. He has the longest border with me I think and the only other weakling left is Commodore with whom he has nearly no border. So it makes sense to attack me from a geography-viewpoint. But attacking the one with the highest or second highest soldier-count does seem wrong to me nonetheless. Of course he got "lucky" because I had most troops near Commodore. Well, and I ignored the obvious signs that he is gearing up against me (heavy culture pushing to get tiles in his 3rd ring that don't benefit him). Or rather I saw them but expected that he is just standard annoying Lewwyn wink

2 turns and I would have started invading. And yeah you were just the most logical target once you went to war with Commodore.

Yeah, I realised your Maceman. Pretty much was the reason I really didn't mind ending the game at all, I knew when you first attacked that from now on it is just a defensive war on two fronts with no way to hurt any one of you considerably. Well, except for defending of course.

Nope. I was just getting engineering. My tech was pretty backward. I didn't even have calendar.

Well FWIW I was about to attack Eckert this turn, and I think unless novice moved in a couple of units it would have fallen to me (and not been in revolt, so I could have held it). I would then have had the choice of offering peace to novice if I thought you were a long term threat from taking most of Serdoa's cities (not that novice would automatically have taken it) but if you seemed open to attack then novice's 35 unit fast mover stack (more than 20 of them knights) might have been a bit of a problem for you?

Yeah I was about to launch a full attack on Serdoa. I was going to be in a GA and mass producing units though.
