Sense
Many armors have a default color that count as a dyed color, in
other words, you can use Dye Remover to reveal a different color. Another thing
to watch out for is that some armor color might count as a base color you can
mix color with (although I can only confirm this with the starter default Mesmer
outfit) - The green parts of the sleeves on the starter outfit turn tan/brown
if a red dye is applied to it, for example. Some
armor pieces get extra graphical treatments when worn in combination with different
pieces. The example below shows the Mesmer's Stylish gloves with (from left to
right) no top, Rogue's, Stylish, and Enchanter's body piece. Note that the extra
graphical treatments takes on the color of the body pieces, but the gloves themselves
remain green (or their dyed color) 
- Also note that some armor pieces might come with their own accessories such
as the Enchanter's top with earrings (shown above, and in the closeup Sleek mask
picture below)  Mix
and Match
Be bold, and have some fun mixing it up with different sets -
Have a special outfit just for lounging around town - Put together a special outfit
for adventuring, for those times you do not need the best stats from your equipment.
