As far as I can tell a wizard broke a wizard's pact with me because they settled 4 tiles away from a major city of mine. Which then caused them to consider my garrison an amassed army on their border.
Maybe it's a good behavior here for them to get angry with me go from relaxed to neutral to broken wizard's pact... but the angry message they send should probably be about borders not amassed armies on their border, there's literally no way to move my armies backwards.

One thing that eluded my attention, and might be considered fixing in a future unofficial patch is the following behavior :
When the human player makes first contact with a wizard, that wizard is already available on the magic screen for diplomacy.
However, at the end of that turn, the greeting triggers, and resets the treaty status, so if any treaty was formed, it disappears. Even if the player talked to the wizard, the greeting happens anyway.
I'm not sure which of these would be an appropriate solution :
-Greeting works the same but no longer cancels treaties. (easy)
-The wizard does not show up on the Magic screen until after the greeting is done. (most likely easy)
-The wizard shows up but if clicked, instead of being able to do anything, the player only gets to read the greeting message, the same way how it's not possible to conduct diplomacy if the AI wizard queued any other message for that turn (like a warning or compliment). (might be hard)
-If the player talks to the wizard, cancel the greeting (idk, maybe easy maybe hard)
Also, I'm wondering if discussions about bugs should go here or the insecticide subforum.

New Paradox game: Hearts of Iron IV! |

I've been watching some gameplay videos of Hearts of Iron IV, and...wow! This might be the only game in the past 10 years that I decide to buy on release, bugs and all. It's just...blowing me away.
Civ has always been a fun series, but I have to admit that this outclasses the most recent iterations of Civ (and even maybe my beloved Civ4) in a couple of key areas:
*Historical detail
*Logistics
*Tactical combat
*Freedom to decide your own level of macro- and micro-management
*Diplomacy
The user-interface is complicated as hell, but there might not be a way around that considering the complex game mechanics.
Who else is pumped about this?

Oh boy. I'm starting to think that this might be a bad idea. How can I compete with these experienced RB players? Casual or not, this is gonna be a hard game. Especially since I'm not familiar with this mod. I'm calling it now: Some obscure change will probably screw me over in the most hilarious way.
Well, as long as I don't get last place, I'll consider this a success.

Currently, MoM has one retort that is only relevant at the start of the game (Myrran). I wonder if it would be possible to add more 'start-of-game' benefits, such as: - Advanced Army: you start with some initial units (~200p). They are mercenaries and do not require buildings.
- Advanced City: you start with some additional buildings (~200p).
- Advanced Knowledge: you start with an Uncommon spell researched.
- Bonus Settlement: you start with an additional Hamlet (population 1, no buildings, 1 spearman).
- Starting Gold: you start with a chunk of bonus gold (~250)
- Starting Hero: you start the game with a hero (fame 0, unless you are Famous).
- Starting Mana: you start with a chunk of bonus mana (~250)
